newbie and ttc

  • Hi everyone
Im 33 years old and i was over 400 pounds. My husband and i are ttc but we have not been very lucky the past two years. I know losing weight is not only what I should do it is something i want to do. That may not sound like much, but to someone who has eaten her way thru life, its really the best approach i have found to losing weight. i hope there are others who will want to join me and learn to forget our faults and start kicking ***!!!!

  • Best of Luck at WW today! Let us know how it goes for you...

It seems like I have tried everything so far (LOL) but this time I have decided that I am going to do calorie counting coupled with exercise.

Ideally my goal is to get somewhere between 260-250 before we TTC. Then during the phase of trying I will still continue with my weight loss until I am offically PG.

How about you....what are your plans for TTC?? Are you TTC now or are you wanting to take some more weight off first?

    Talk to you soon!
  • HEY ALL,
Weight watchers was good, the meeting went well, but unforturnetly i gained 1 pound. I am hoping it is just pms!!!!!! I refuse to get down about it!!
I have tried IUI (six times) and a failed in-vitro, but i want to start up again next year. I really want to be around 315 when i start, but we will see what the doctor says

    have a great weekend
  • Hi Karda,

Glad to hear all went well at WW. The 1+ could be for any number of reasons so it's great to hear that you are remaining positive! Hopefully you'll notice a difference next weigh in.
  • Hi everyone! I just found the PG/TTC board on here! I am new too, and am hanging out on the 300+ board.
I have been trying for 9 cycles to get pg with #2. We were pg in April, but I m/c'd (miscarried) at 5+ wks along. But we are still working it!!!! I am testing on Monday if she doesn't show by then, but I don't have any symptoms. **Crossing my fingers**

But When I was pg wit Chandler 3 years ago, I will give you the scoop.
I weighed 334 when I got pg. I lost 18 lb the first trimester from morning sickness/nausea mostly. I had a hard time eating, which isn't good but the OB wasn't worried. I started to gain 2nd tri, and then toally stabilized the 3rd tri. I ended up gaining 5 lb total. 2 weeks post partum I was down 40 lb. I had to go buy new jeans! Chandler was a great diet. It was tough, but my OB never made me loose weight and hasn't since we started TTC #2. But I had gained some of the weight back but not all. I am still 30ish LB down from where I was pre preganancy with Chan. So I figure when I get pg with #2, I will continue to count calories and exercise as much as I can when pg. I wear a body bugg now and it really helps with the calorie burning factor.

Good luck on your weight loss journey and your TTC journey. Feel free to PM me if you would like some supportive TTC/Baby places to hang.

  • Hi Melissa!

Thanks for sharing your PG story that is really encouraging!!

I am getting so discouraged lately because I want a baby sooooo badly and everyone around me is popping up PG left and right. While I am happy for them it just makes me yearn more for my own.

Best of luck to you with #2 ...Hope you get your BFP soon... keep us posted!

  • Hi everyone,
Well i finally did it!! I joined a health club yesterday, Womens workout world(W3). Everyone was reallly nice and i was so happy to see other larger women in there. I joined with my sister and this thursday we are going in for orientation on how to use the machines and they work a program for you. The cool thing was you have the choice to be weighed and measured. You don't have to do it unless you want to. Which i will, but its nice to know that they don't force you like other places.
I also get so sad sometimes about not having a child yet and i pretty much stopped trying this pass year only because the drugs were getting me so emotional that i didn't really know it until i was off them. Sometimes i burst out crying to my husband that i want a baby!! That poor man is so sweet he just tells me not to worry and then lets me cry!! THANK GOD FOR HIM!!!
Well im striving for two maybe three days tops to hit the gym a week. Baby steps.

  • Hi everyone I want to join in too. I am trying to lose weight with the hopes I will get pregnant. My doctor told me that weight loss would increase my chances of getting pregnant. I hope that he is right because I want to be pregnant already.

I have tried all of the diets and have had some luck only to regain. I am back on weight watchers points system. This time around I plan to stick with weight watchers for the long haul.

This week I started using my Walk Off The Pounds tape for exercise.

    Good Luck everyone with TTC.
