Really discouraged

  • This is mostly just a vent:

I have been doing WW Flex Plan since February of 2006. The first 6-8 months were really easy and I lost 55 pounds. For about the last year, I have really struggled. About a month ago, I recommitted. I have stuck to the plan, gotten in my 8 healthy guidelines, stayed away from fast food (even if it was within my points) and exercised 3-4 times a week. However, I have gained every weigh-in. Three weeks ago, it was only .2, last week is .6, today it was 2.2!

I don't know what is going wrong. I have done everything right and it really is pi$$ing me off. As much as I didn't like the plateau, at least I hadn't been gaining it back. Now I am and I just want to give up.
  • Might want to use a site like fit day. Will help you keep track of what you eat. Maybe you are staying on plan but the combination of foods you are useing are takeing in more than you need. Sometimes it is just switching around the foods we eat together.
  • 1) are you eating at least all your daily points? If so try eating your APs and/or part of all of your weekly points

    2) when you start or change an exercise routine your muscles tend to retain water and you can show maintains or even gains for 3 or 4 weeks after the start of the change
  • I am still new to WW really but I wonder if your body has jut gotten used to what you are doing. Have you tried changing it up a bit to see how things go? Both the ladies above have great advice . I just read the Wendies approach in the sticky's and that was very interesting and made a lot of sense too.
  • Try the Core plan for a week or so and then switch back to Flex. Good luck =)
  • I am 26 pounds down in 4 1/2 months and I hit a plateau also. I would switch to Core for a week Trulies said. The Wendies approach in a sticky some where on this board worked for a friend who had hit a plateau. Good luck. Stick to it. The program does work! And you have done such a great job getting that 55 pounds off!
  • Someone at the meeting last week was talking about something similar and another person suggested switching to core for a week or 2 to confuse the body and another suggested switching exercises completely to "shake" things up a little. Hang in there!!!! Don't forget to drink the water also.
