neat realization...

  • So I haven't lost a pound in about 4 months and am beginning to accept that my tall and somewhat muscle-y body is not going to get any lighter. But I've kept working out, and today I worked a 12-hour-day and was damn stressed, so I went running. And I just kept running, and running, and before I knew it I'd done 10k, just on a random Tuesday night.

And suddenly I remembered something from school, way back in eighth grade before I started competively running in high school. We always had track and field day and I was slated in run in the 1k race, and my 12-year-old self STRUGGLED to finish that damn race. I wasn't a really big kid, but I just didn't eat right, as I had the "feed 'em a plate of white spaghetti and meatballs and then ice cream" kind of parents. And now, at 24, I can run 10k -- ten times that race! -- without even thinking about it. It's funny because I really ought to have been in better shape as a kid than an adult who sits on her butt at a desk most of the day. But I'm really glad I can run it now!
  • wow that's awesome, congrats!!!
  • That is amazing!!!
  • wow ! u rock keep it up!
  • At your height, 155 is far from heavy, sometimes our bodies have a place they are comfortable. Maybe you need to change up your workout routine and try something new. Also weight training 3 times a week is a must. I try to really vary my workouts.

If you really want that last 10 pounds gone, you can always do the back to basics. Two weeks of protein and veggies and slowly start adding low glycemic foods after the 2 weeks is up. You are going to drop a few pounds as there are not as many carbs to consume during your workouts and your body has to turn to the fat deposits for fuel.

Worth a shot....what is 2 weeks. Personally I got sick of egg white omelets after 2 weeks. Also really limit or eliminate salt. and only fresh foods.
