Well I am 30 years old and have been yo-yo dieting for years. I am divorced and have a 10 year old daughter. Life gets hetic and stressful sometimes. I started to get back on track 9/23/07. My church started a group where we weigh in each Sunday and are somewhat held accountable to the group. Since then I have lost 7.2 lbs. I just recently started excersizing which I hope will help the weight to come off a bit faster. My goal is to lose 33.8 more pounds and keep it off for good. With the holidays coming up, I know my willpower WILL be tested. Any suggestions for keeping on track through the holidays?
Welcome jcaskey! I used to live in Bossier City, if you know where that is? You can come join us on the daily thread. Posting hear regularly can help with the accountability too! Hope to see ya there!

For me, the biggest thing that I have done is not change too much. If I want something, I figure out a way to get the flavors I want and not cheat. This weekend, I made a beautiful fall dinner and served it out on my deck. I made a roast chicken, stuffing (with NO butter added), rosemary potatoes, steamed greenbeans with lemon and FF parmesan, and a wonderful (Im talking mouth watering) pumpkin cheesecake that was sooooooo little fat and calories. My guests couldnt believe it was lowfat. So, have the things you want during the holidays. Make it small portions and change your recipes up to give you the most flavor for the least amt of calories and fat.
My friends and I had a discussion about this at work the other day. It seems everyone at work is on one diet or another and all doing pretty well. Dieting over the holidays is very hard. There is always food in your face. But give yourself permission to cheat a little. And then get right back on track. Eating extra at the holidays a few days a year didn't get us to the weight we are now... it was all the other days that did it.
