I knew there had to be some more perks to being an Army Wife...

I finally got the balls to go up to this personal trainer at the gym on post today and just ask what her rate was, fully expecting to pay through the nose and not even caring anymore and she blurts out..."free...everything in this gym is free"

So darned excited it's not even funny - meeting with her tomorrow to set up a schedule! She's very Jillian-esque too, doesn't like to hear whining which is what I need!

Congratulations, cakses, for getting up the courage to ask. That's a good sign for success on your journey.

hmmm... perhaps you can suggest to the Army brass to have their recruiting ads emphasize free personal trainers for wives. They might solve their quota challenges with married men

the military definately has some awesome benefits...especially with all the other crap you have to deal with...ie husband being deployed etc...so congrats to you and use it to your full advantage.

Is it like that on all army post?? We will be moving back to fort bragg in the next couple weeks and I was just wondering so I can look into it. I do know they have free classes, such as steps, and spin class.

I guess I am going to have to look into that!!!

I remember years ago as a kid being involved in gymnastics, and my brother in karate on post. Since we were dirt poor, I'm pretty sure those were free services too!

I just recently discovered this perk of being a military wife. I LOVE it! It's definitely a bit intimidating working out in the on-base gym, (especially when there are lots of hard bodied Marines around, lol), but well worth it. And I know my trainer down here has had extensive training... she even got to train with Billy Blanks once, and the military paid for it all. She has more certificates, etc, than I've ever seen a civilian gym's trainer have... and she's FREE!!!! Good luck, and have fun!

WOW! That is so awesome! I try not to think about how much money I spend on personal training (although it is worth it and when I think about how much money I spend on c**p, it's easy to justify the training--at least it is making me healthier, as opposed to the rest of the junk I buy).
