Morning ladies!!!

Its Monday again!

I hope I can get off my hill to get to work...I hope my babysitter can get here, most schools are closed, we only got about 6 inces but this IS Tennesse and we are unprepared for snow of any kind, apparently many of the roads are frozen as they only plow the main roads..should be interesting! I have 4 wheel drive but that is USELESS on ice.......

Sposed to go to a conference tommorrow out of town, I relaly am hoping it is not cancelled as I am looking forward to the break from work and of course my house!!!!

Gee, with the amount of snow floating around in the southern states, you guys can call yourselves The Great White South!

Harry got up early with the pup this morning. He dropped a spoon and Lucy took off with it so I awoke to shouts of "Come here, dammit, you little fart!" I lay in bed and giggled for a while and then rescued them from each other.

Today I am going to start putting my life back together. I have an appointment to renew my health card (!) and will be doing a bit of grocery shopping if I feel up to it. The veggies in my crispers belong in the compost heap! I did make a crockpot of soup overnight with the extra beef and veggies from last night's stir-fry so feel pretty virtuous this morning to have lunch already cooked.

My bath is ready so I'm off. Have a good day, Chickies.

First up in he morning and would you believe I was awake before my daughter the alarm clock? A miracle I tell you! After yesterday's plumbing crisis, I have been getting some MUCH needed laundry caught up with and more of the same for the rest of the day. I also plan on getting that kitchen started--it's not going to paint itself so I'd better get crackin'!

Ruth, sounds like puppies are not only a lot of trouble but definitely a lot of fun! Hope yourdh wasn't too upset

Scooby, having lived in Canada for pretty darned near all my life and with snow banks that can go high over 8 feet tall, I only WISH they would cancel everything on just 6 inches of snow! Heck, it would be a holiday every darned day in the winter!

Morning!

A bit of snow on the ground today! The little guy has left for school (they hardly ever close his school) and the big kid is still sleeping! Gosh! this kid needs his sleep! He has a delayed opening today!

Dental appointment for me today...just a cleaning and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get the "gentle hygenist".

Need to run to the store and get some snow bibs for the little guy...he just loves playing in the white stuff and his from last year are about to his knees.

Control, sanity and balance...that is my hope for my eating today!

First of all " Happy New Year " to everyone. Our internet server changed and I wasn't able to get here until today. How is everyone doing?
I blew my plan somewhat this past weekend, had more carbs then I needed and today I feel tired and just plain BLAH. I am going to be more careful this week.

Back to Atkins Induction today after a 25.50 lb gain since Thanksgiving. I read the new version of his book this weekend and am inspired. I never did read the entire book; just read the chapter that outlined the "diet". At the time I did consider it just a diet and not a way of eating. I couldn't wait to lose all my weight so I could go off of it and eat like I had before. Wrong! I now realize this is a way of eating for life and not only does it help me control my weight, but it also helps me control my bulimia and it keeps my moods more even. It's also very healthy when followed correctly.

I'm mad at myself because instead of having only 23 lbs to lose as I did in October, I now have to lose 60. But I am human and I'm not the only one who's ever gained weight. I've done it before, I can do it again.

I just got home from physical therapy and it went as well as can be expected. Grrrrrr!
Tomorrow the temp is supposed to get to 40! Good grief! I love this weather as it is so much easier to drive and the wood pile is't going down fast.
Other than that, there isn't much new here! I have make a resolution to declutter. Every day I have to throw away 5 things from the house. I have found that, the bigger the house, the more junk accumulates!

Tippy, I'm laughing at your decluttering. I am doing my darndest to declutter too. I cannot believe what amazing packrats my DH and kids are. Everytime I throw something away, one of them finds it in the trash and asks me how I could get rid of such an important treasure. The only way I can safely get rid of something is to tell my DH that I'm going to sell it on ebay or save it for a garage sale and then bury it in a full trash can! We're not talking good stuff here, we're talking old, broken crap!

Had to laugh Peach you can tell ou are still out of sorts from the holidays you still have santa as you avitar!!! I know i still have my snow man but i love them so i will keep him till the snow is gone or i am sick of it.

Well, apprently I didn't hit the submit reply button because my post is a goner! Oh well. Will be more careful today. Maybe I haven't had enough coffee.

I hope you are doing great today. It's a busy one here with finding DD some activities to keep her busy. Wanted preschool, but just too expensive. So, we are opting for swimming, gymnastics and soccer. She's a physical kind of girl anyway, so this should be good for her.

Right now it's windy and I have to go rescue a tarp. Take care everyone and a have a groovy day!

Oh dear,

Good Afternoon all...I'm a bit late but here none the less

Got up to go do a work out at the Y and it was so busy we coudn't find a parking spot (We as in my friend and I, she too low carbs). Off to breaky we went, my treat as she was wonderful at helping me with my cards yesterday

Then to staples as she wanted to look into a cam for her computer. Then to Walmart as I needed to get some no friz stuff to see if I can ever get back the style I recieved last week when I got my hair cut. (still can't get over the cost!).

Then our own seperate ways.

Me, I had to get an oil change (found out I need a new passenger tire as the belt is broken), then had to get my vents fixed as heat only came out of the window area (defrost only). Then had to take my dogs to the vet, as I am getting a bit more concerned with the one that vomits (Scrappy) and the other one (Peanut) seems to be experiencing skin problems.

All this has to be done as next week (acutally Sunday) I'm heading out to Ottawa for surgery (nothing serious) and will need to make sure my van runs well (five hour drive) and that the dogs are ok, leaving them with groomer over night.

Do you ever find, that when extra money finally comes into the house, it goes out just as fast Thank god for overtime, but sure wish I could keep the money in the bank instead!

OH OH....forgot to mention...I applied for a job a couple of months ago, it has to do with cleaning which doesn't impress me much, but good money and part time only. Well I got the usual government letter saying they recieved my resume and after three weeks if I don't hear anything that the job has been filled. Well as soon as I saw that letter in my mail box, I pretty much forgot about it, as a letter usually tells me I'm not in for an interview.

Got a phone call this morning with a woman saying they are running behind etc..etc...and would I like to come in for an interview Thusday (this thursday) I was surprised and of course agreed. So, I have an interview this up coming Thursday for a possible job...LOL...Don't care for the job, but I want to leave my business, as I am fed up with it. So maybe, if I do get this job, it can hold me over until the Nursing home is completed?

Oh Lordy its been like 15 yrs since going to an interview....good practise I suppose, as I hear things are really different now since the 70's....LOL

Wish I had time to respond to everyone! But of course DH pulled in as soon as I came on!

I'm sorry I've not been offering much support lately. It's a combination of self loathing, disgust, depression and major stress. Loss and/or serious illness of family or friends, serious issues for our family as well as knowing the amount of weight I've gained in the past year.

I'm trying very hard to pull myself out of this, one day at a time. Not so much by focusing on the weight loss issues, but personal. I guess some self esteem issues would describe it best. I keep reminding myself that God has Blessed me with so much that I shouldn't and don't have a right to dig a hole around myself for the minor things.....with that said, hopefully I'm back amongst my friends!

I hope to be able to come back again tomorrow!

I am so happy to see all the posts and all the enthusiasm! Just a normal Monday around my house, got home from work and jumped on here, then it's Flylady, she sent me 15 e-mails today. The Declutter Challenge is on and going strong, you all need to check it out! I personally have items from elementary school in my house, and it's been 10 years since I graduated high school. Does that mean PACKRAT or what?

Monday night, so tired I am aching! I put in a huge meatloaf so I have good food for the week, I can see it will be a rough one!

Getting back to more sane eating, Jennifer, and Janice, you are in good company! I think most of us have a good share of self-loathing or dissapointment or whatever at the weight gains and pits of over-eating we've been in. Glad you're posting- I feel that when I am posting here, I do better for just that reason alone! I think it's like goin to WW meetings, it has an effect on the rest of the day and week.

I am trying to be back fully myself, I have not had a perfect day yet, but I do feel my blood sugar is more stable, and my moods, strength, and hunger/cravings are better. Weight loss? I know that's harder, but at least feeling human is a start!

I love rereading Atkins, or CALP or Protein Power, for that matter. It really reinforces the reasons we need to eat this way. It's easy to slide into the "low fat" mentality- and end up eating pasta and bread and fruit all day long, thinking it's "healthy."

Every day I come here, I know I will get some kind of help- whether it is information, a kick, a pat, a hug, a new idea, or a laugh. It's so great to be able to come here!
