I went to my cousins baby shower recently and was mistaken by another guest as the mother to be. We're talking the full tummy rub along with "when are you do?" in front of a huge room full of people. I was completely mortified. Once I got over the initial embarassment I realized that I needed to take control of my weight gain. So here I am! I've got a pretty good sense of humour and can see the funny side of it... ok maybe not just yet but I hope to once I start to lose the weight. I'm looking forward to chatting with others who perhaps can relate to the challenges of trying to lose weight.

Sorry you went through that! I've had a moment with my great (who likes to point out to other women in our family that have gained weight) and it was horrible. Everyone has had some kind of "moment". Good luck and this is a really good place for support!
Last night I was at a fundraiser wearing a cute new top, but I got to thinking about what my son said and started thinking my top could be confused with a maternity top. I got a glass of wine real quick so people wouldn't have to wonder.
Discouraging, I like how you are turning the incident into a positive.
I have had a difficult week and can use a good example like you. Thanks for sharing.
