New, Young, Ready

  • Hi my name is Joy and I am sixteen. I have been fairly "hefty" most of my life, with the exception from a few phases Ive gone through. I have been working out some and losing some weight and it has been a great experience (my exercise of choice is walking and whole-body strength training). I would like to keep up my progress and share in other's. I hope to make many friends here who will have great tips for me to lose weight and KEEP it off. I have a discovered that I want to be a nutritionist because of my keen interest in it. So my goal is to be healthy. I hope to here from you all soon.

    Its wonderful that you have recognized a problem, and better yet, taken HEALTHY moves to fix it, at 16! Lots of people your age don't have the maturity to think about keeping the weight off or doing things the healthy way.

    I took Nutrition classes at UC Davis - so interesting. Its a great field to get into, and you can really help people.

    Keep looking around! You might want to check out the Whole Foods forums - they seem likely to be in line with your health goals.

  • Thank you all for the support. I was doing really well but this week has been so hectic with family that I hardly had the time to exercise and with so much family coming down all we did was EAT!
