My name is Lyndsey, I'm 23 from Ontario Canada and REALLY glad I found this board.
As of yesterday morning I have started a 'New life' as I like to call it, since I hate the word diet. I'm following the Weight Watchers program which I did back in 2001, but this time I am doing it myself at home with all the books, just without going to meetings. I've been chubby my whole life, (except when I was 15 and the Atkins diet did wonders for me) but I didn't keep it off and I've grown to realize I can't live without carbs LOL
I'm a size 14-16 but weigh about 40-50 pounds more than I look, or so many people are telling me, which is very frustrating and depressing. According to the weight watchers book I should lose 90 pounds but my goal is 75. (I do have a 38F chest that I'm giving a few pounds to.)
I'm also starting a 'New Life' because I have a hernia in my stomach that I may need to have surgery on in the upcoming months. Taking off extra weigh is going to be recommended so why not give it a head start right? I'm sure it'll be tough but well worth it down the road.
Anyways, I am sorry to ramble but glad to be here.

from a fellow Canadian. I was born and raised in Toronto but have been living down east for the past dozen years or so. Anyway, you hve definitely come to the right place for lots of support as you travel the winding road to better health and fitness. Hope you will love it here.
