You only feel that way because you've never had my banana nut muffins. 
Let me just reassure you that breaking the sugar/starch addiction is very much a physical battle. I encourage you to read "You on a Diet" which does a very good job of explaining sugar addiction and the physical impact as well as the psychological impact. I lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks on Southbeach......along with 3 inches off my waist and two inches off my hips. Water? Hmmm...I don't think so!
