Morning all you sleeping beauties!

Second day back at the office and second day back on Atkins……. Feeling much better today. It is a dream coming to the office this time of the year NO TRAFFIC!!!
Yesterday was one of the longest days back at the office, very very very quite allot of people still on leave and the suppliers are still closed until the 14th January so I had time to read some of the threads. Sound like you all had a lovely time.

I discovered this morning that somebody changed the settings on my scale (I think it is DH) it is out with 8.8lbs. Glad to discover that the damage is not so bad at all I gained about 5lbs and not 13lbs WWWOOOOOEEEEE!!

We have a wedding on the 12th of January and I really would like to be back on 184lbs. Going to give it my best shot.

I hope all you sick ones feel better soon. Stay indoors and drink lots of liquid.

Hi Hensa! Glad to hear that those 13 pounds were the result of a glitch in your scale. Those 5 pounds should come off pretty quickly so hang in there.

Hope that all of you who are not feeling well feel better soon. Bronchial Pneummonia? see your doc and take your meds.

Pretty quiet around here and we are getting back to our normal routines. I took down all the Christmas stuff yesterday except for the tree. I will take a crack at that today and then head towards the basement...or perhaps I will run to the fabric store and just LOOK!

My walking buddy is dragging my lazy fluffy butt out today. I could have a love hate relationship with this gal. I am beginning to really dislike the cold weather...well, I don't like the hot weather either...go figure!

Speaking of weather....how are you gals in the "southern snow belt" doing? I heard it described this morning as "grits hitting the fan!" Can't think of a better thing to do with a high carb food like grits!

Yes, I am sick but did have good night's sleep. Bronchial pneumonia sucks! I have a good drug and a new puffer and have not had a coughing fit (asthma) since midnight. I'm crossing my fingers that the worst is over.

Hernsa, I'd kill him for re-setting the scale! Bet you are glad to know why you gained, however.

Peachy, are you a fabric store addict too? I have a room full of fabric. Have stuff from 1974 that still is not used! Just not inspired, I guess.

Puppy is crying so I should go downstairs and survey her nightime contributions. We moved ehr into another room and she either has stopped crying all night or we can't hear her as well. Good thing the little poopers are cute!

Off for a chest X-ray today - remind me to take off the metal bra - and am going to work in several naps.

Only a quick hi today, as I am back to work for the first time since Friday. Yesterday was a mess, took my SIL to the cancer dr for not good news. So we had a big pasta lunch with WINE, and that shot the day, timewise and food wise. Hit the leftover pumpkin pie before bed and now I'm dragging! Think I'll skip the scale again, there can only be badnews there, too!

Today and tomorrow I train all day, so I bring WW frozen entrees for lunch(no time) and tonight will collapse. Maybe being on my feet for 2 days will act as exercise and it'll all even out. Looking
forward to the weekend, then full speed ahead into January. We have JCAHO(hospital acreditation) audits the end of Jan, and I have been assigned an extra unit to cover, this spring will be awful. I am not going near the "where do you want to be in 3 months? thread," I'm afraid to think!

Well, I'd better get moving, this day will go fast, and so will tomorrow...isn't that life? It gets away from you sometimes. Hold on tight, and enjoy each day- you never know what's ahead!

Morning ladies,

Another glorious winter morning, the temps are not so cold as yesterday. My dear Kudo and I have to hit the streets for our morning walks, the deep snow takes too much effort for him to walk.

Feeling good today to be op for 2 days now. Why do we fall off the wagon when it makes us feel so bad?!?

I am still plugged and feeling stuffy headed, and not sleeping too well at night, coughing and blowing my nose. Are there any good cough suppressants out there without carbs?

Hensa, glad it was a scale error.

Peachie, That basement wish of yours is exactly one of my great wishes for our home. I am afraid it will never happen until after my boys have grown up and moved out of the house. I love my dh, but he has this addition problem. He is addicted to toys! GI Joes, Hot Wheels, Star Wars figures, you name it we have it nicely left in it's original packaging and stored in our basement. Did you ever see Toy Story II, well that villian, the evil toy collector, reminds me of dh!

Good Morning all,

Dragging myself out of bed this morning. I got terrible news last night which got me into a couple of drinks and feeling lots of emotions. A friend of mine died New Years Day of an anerisum, she is only 40 yrs old. At 43 I'm not use to hearing this sort of thing. One expects to hear of friends passing on when one is in there 80's.

Right now I don't feel good and sure don't feel like going out to my Clients homes. When at Clients homes one must be cherry and listen to their problems (Seniors). I'm sitting here trying to decide to cancel and feel like going back to bed. I'm still having trouble digesting this news and sure don't look forward to going to her funeral...it will be so hard.

Someone asked about a couph medicine that has low carbs. I bought one from Shoppers Drug Mart which is sugar free. Just ask the Pharmacist for a sugar free one, diabetics use this, it worked real well for me.


Well not sure what I'm going to do today, but all of you have a great one.

Good Morning everyone! Gee you guys are up so early in the morning! I am personally not an early bird but only out of necessity am I awake so early!

I have a cold now, just the sniffles, nothing so serious as Ruthie's pneumonia (you take care of yourself!!!!) but just enough to make me feel yucky. So I'm taking my meds to clear my stuffy head and take a good nap today.

My WOE is going well, had a slip last night and got into my homemade dinner rolls. DH loves these things--we were munching while watching the Wedding Planner (with Jennifer Lopez and Matt McConeghey SP?) Pretty good movie and a nice giggle.

Second day at the Y at 0600. Walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. YEA! THere is noone there at that hour it is great!

SNOW!!! It missed TN we had a slight flurry but that is it so far..I hear this weekend we are supposed to get the big storm with several inches of accumulation...kids will love it. Mom won't!

Another cold-sunny, gorgeous morning. I could get used to this!

We're doing fine. Kids working lots of hours to make "play money" for school. They'll be going back to school around the 12th. Husband getting back in his routine. Helping everybody else w/their routines pretty much shoots the heck out of mine. But no complaints -- having the kids home over semester break has been great.

Wendy, my heart goes out to you. I don't even like to think of the possibility of losing one of my dear friends. Your friend was so young, it just doesn't seem possible that such things can happen. So tragic. There's just no way to prepare for such sadness.

Hensa -- your story about your husband re-setting your scale made me chuckle (WHY did he do that??) -- reminded me of the time when my mom took in all my clothes about an inch (I was about 13). She thought it would inspire me to lose weight. Talk about confused! I had enough body image issues (still do -- I NEVER know what I really look like. I see pictures of myself and think "Who IS that fat, middle-aged red head?") w/out suddenly and inexplicably not being able to breathe and wear clothes at the same time. She meant well. But -- pretty good news for you to suddenly "lose" 8 pounds w/out dieting at all!

Scooby -- great job on your walking! I noticed that Suzanne said something in her journal about the walking threads. I think I'll check it out since I've become a little more focussed on walking too.

Speaking of which -- Peach, honey -- you just bundle that fuzzy (or was it fluffy? I get those mixed up) butt up and walk! You're doing the Bix w/me this year, right?

Dottie -- sorry to hear about your SIL. And I know what you mean about that tired, semi-conscious feeling from eating too many carbs -- it just sort of sneaks up on me -- and I get more and more tired (and confused!) until I muddle around long enough to finally figure it out. A couple of days of cleaning up my food and I'm back to my old normally confused and marginally muddled self!

Pooky, Jenny, and Ruth -- hope you're all feeling better soon.

Wendy, I am sorry to hear about your friend. I know that losing someone so suddenly can just about comotose (sp?) a person. Just find some happiness and the rest of the day will just happen.

I hate cold weather. I hate wet weather. I hate cold wet weather. That means I hate snow. Yuck!

Our state troopers have asked us to stay off the roads unless its an emergency. I am trapped in the house with Granny and DD and am sending out prayers that SOMEONE around here owns a snowmobile and will please come take me to work!! Oh, for peace and quiet!!

This is quite uncommon for the midlands of South Carolina, to say the least. There have been over 2000 auto wrecks since it started yesterday, which only goes to show you that we don't know how to drive in this mess. I have sense enough to know that about myself, and stay off the roads, but some people think they can do anything since they saw it on TV, go figure! Anyway, that's enough about that.

Hope everyone is having a happy, OP day. Dottie and Wendy and anyone else with bad news, I'm so sorry I really don't know what to say.

Just a quick post==I am back to school today The kids are tired AND wound up! What a deal! I am trying to "de-Christmas" here at school and put up January stuff too, but my heart is not in it--got a terrible sinus infection that I have not been able to kick. DS still has vacation til Monday, so he was still sleeping when I left, lucky bum. His dad did have to come home and get him up and to basketball practice by 9:00. I left a "to do" list and will be glad if ANYTHING on it gets done. I am really excited--my "Walk Away The Pounds" videos came yesterday!!! Can't wait til this weekend to get going on that!!

Ruth, hope you kick that pneumonia soon--my mom battles with that almost every winter and I know how hard it is.

Hensa I think I might physically maim my DH if he did that to me! I was really surprised when I read of your 13 pound gain yesterday, so that explains a lot. Have you found that you like Atkins better than CAD? Just wondering.

Annie I ordered Walk Away the Pounds yesterday. It should be here next week. I hope we both like it. Everyone is giving it such great reviews that I thought I'd give it a try. I really liked doing Jazzercise, but I have to drive so far to get there that it takes a huge chunk out of my day and it's the first thing to go when I get busy.

Sooner She really took your clothes in? That's something I would have a hard time letting go of. I suppose she was trying to help you and did it "for your own good", but that was pretty harsh! I also have a really distorted body image. I tend to only see extremes. I either see myself as this almost svelte thing or the Stay-Puft Marshmallow woman. I'm hoping that somewhere along the way in this journey, my body image will get a little more realistic!

Baylee I love your positive attitude about things. You're a great addition to this group. Keep posting!

I'm one of the many with this damn, damn cold. I've been sick with it since a couple of days before Christmas and it's not getting better! I'm sick of being sick.

Oh yeah, DD and I saw Kate and Leopold yesterday (sniffles and all). I really liked it. Good chick flick kind of movie if you're in the need of an escape from reality.
