SEPTEMBER Points Challenge (This has NOTHING to do with WW)

  • SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE...fall is coming! Are you were you want to be? Accomplishing your goals? Do you need some help? How about a challenge to help keep us on the straight and narrow for the next month? It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting tomorrow, September 1, 2007. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way)

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    Food: Stay under 1600 calories 6 days a week, one 300 -400 calorie treat pr week

    30--4 pts--- Hiked for 3 hrs, didn't use not feeling well as an excuse to overeat, and when I wanted dark chocolat, I ate mango , pineapple and banana yummy!!
    I had a few bad days, but I am proud that I was able to start over again, and not give up as I have in the past.

    I will not have a bad month!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this! I've seen it a few times and have been meaning to join in! My goal for September will be 7 pounds. Just under 2 lb a week. I'll be starting at (probably) 230....here goes! Good luck to you all!

    Goal for Sept: 96 points (this would put me on plan 80% of the time) just made it!

  • So last month I sucked big time. I have decided to not do that this time. Is it okay to go 3 months in a row? I hope so. Being on track would be good.

    Food: 1950 calories or less (oh, moving it down 50 calories, look at me go!)
    Water: 50+ oz
    Exercise: Either a workout video, or a walk...not going to be too strict, because I get bored really easily...just as long as I am doing some kind of work out at least 6 times a week



    Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I stopped paying attention for the last part of the month. I will try this again soon.
  • OK, Gina, I'm copying yours. Thanks! Here are my goals:

    Exercise: Cardio 30 (edited down from 40 on 9/1 a.m., because of back) minutes a day, 5 days a week.
    Food : 30g of carbohydrate a day, or less, 1600 calories or less (edited 9/1 a.m. to add calorie count in addition to carbs)
    Water : 32 ounces of just water, in addition to my coffee, tea, and whatever else, for a total of 64 oz. (or more)

  • Maybe 4th time's a charm. I'd like to try again, even though the last few months haven't gone very well...
    Eating
    - At least 5 fruits/veggies a day (I'm trying to get into a good habit of eating fruits & veggies, since I usually don't)
    - No fast food (If I go to a fast food place I'll get a salad)
    - No soda pop
    - No candy
    - No eating after 9pm (trying to get rid of my midnight snacking habit)
    - Portion control!!
    - No "Junk food".

    Water
    - At least 2 liters.

    Exercise
    - Walking 6 days a week
    - Hip hop Abs workout 6 days a week.
    - Cardio Dance Video 3 days a week.
    - Weight lifting/training 3 days a week.

    My Goal for this month: To do well, stick to plan, and hopefully start seeing some results!! My weight loss goal for the month is 12-15 pounds.

  • Ok. So this is the first month that I am going to do this. So lets see, Im gonna do:
    1500-1800 calories a day sunday through friday with 2000 on saturday
    Atleast 30 minutes of exercise every day
    Atleast 64 oz of water a day!!!!!

    I did great on vacation... my problem this month was exercise. The remodel exercise was fine, but I found that my foot is not ready for walking as exercise. We have access to a gym now, so problem solved.
