New to WW, new to site

  • I don't really even know if I've stumbled my way to the right place on this website. After much thought to ways of eating/dieting -- I feel pretty confident in starting the WW plan. I have right the 3 chicks book and decided to come here for support -- but not sure if I'm at the right place for advice, support, etc.

Is there anyone out there who can help and/or give some advice to a newbie?

Any and all is greatly appreciated!
  • Welcome Shayna!
  • Welcome! WW is a great plan. I'm on flex and have never tried core. Before my pregnancy, I lost over 20 lbs. Here are some tips that I have gotten from other WW members. I have found these to be the most valueable...

    1. Be strict on point counting...but don't be strict on your cravings. If you crave something, eat it! Just measure it...and count it. Or what I do is improvise. When I'm craving fast food french fries, I buy frozen fries and bake and season them.

    2. Eat your flex points. The first time I was on WW, yes I lost weight...BUT i didn't use my flex points. I was way too strict with that. So, after I met goal, I tried eating them and gained. My body was so used to 22 a week. Not to mention, I have heard a lot of people say that when they plataeued, they would do the Wendie plan which involves using your flex points. Plus, can you really go your whole life without indulging in foods at parties or restaurants? That would be no fun. So, use your flex points!

    3. Water, water, water!

    4. Try eating a small salad or a cup of warm broth before your meal.

    5. 100 calorie packs are great!

    6. Don't put any food in the "no" list. If theres something you love but its very high in points, see if you can find something similar but better for you.

    7. Get moving. If you haven't exercised yet, start small. I park my car far away from the door at the grocery store and other places. Or take the stairs instead of the elevator.

    Good luck!!
