Please be gentle with the newbie...

  • Hi all
I'm Kelly and I'm new to this forum.
I've fought with my weight all my life and am currently at my heaviest which is 26 stone give or take a few pounds.
I'm really making the concious effort to try and lose some weight as I have failed so many times just to put it back on and some more besides.
I've been to the doc's and they have given me both xenical to try and help me along a bit and metformin as I have PCOS.
I do love a good giggle and I have an evil sense of humour but lately I don't feel like i've had a lot to smile about and I really want to change that.
I hate diet clubs like SW and WW I always feel like the biggest person there and as all my friends are healthy weight usually have to go alone so when I found this place online I was pretty pleased.
So my diet journey starts tomorrow..
    Wish me luck
    Kel
  • Hey there,
welcome here. i hope this forum will help you a little bit, and don't be afraid of asking questions :P

    Good luck
  • Welcome to the forum Kelly.

Every time except the last time I joined I've been the biggest at SW or WW it's not very nice feeling self conscious at a fat club.

    Good luck.
  • Welcome Kel

I'm just finishing my third week on Xenical after loosing some weight on my own. For me its been great but you really need to be dedicated in following a low fat diet or the consequences can be awful from what I have read. I've lost 7lb in the first two weeks which would be brilliant if it continues.

  • Hiya and welcome, its great that you're doing this, I really hope you succeed. I found the same when I did WW and I just felt like the fat girl, but recently I started doing Slimming World online (www.bodyoptimise.com) which I find it great because I follow the same programme and there's nobody there to compare myself to which is great as you don't feel like you stick out. Anyhow if you have any questions about that then don't be afraid to ask. I hope you find whichever way works best for you
  • Hello Kel

  • Hi and welcome to the forum, lots of new peeps this week and a few like me who are returning after being AWOL!
  • Welcome Hun - don't feel bad even if you may be the biggest at the diet club - they are all there for the same reason! If you are bigger thaere is more likelihood of you losing more quicker than them. Some people may only have a few pounds to lose(I wish!) but it can be just as hard as your loss. Anyway, as someone pointed out you can do it online. Just try not to go in for a huge loss - do it gently - aim for about 1-2lb a week (it'll soon add up).
  • Hey welcome to the site and good luck in your weighloss project.
  • I seriously wish I had seen this earlier. Kelly and I go WAY back!
