  • Another lovely saturday at work. I'm doing ok today I had a run in with 2 candybars yesterday. I stopped myself before hitting the dark choclate M&Ms cause I knew it wasn't solving anything but they damn sure tasted good. Looking forward to tomorrow getting togethere with the car club at the park and we're going to cook out. I'm working OT on monday and I have a side job to look at so I just more or less just got to get thru this week.

Thank all for your words of encorugement. I've been hearing those same words tho for over 13 years lol. But its that you all care that bring the smile to my face and I thank you for that.

gtg time to bust my knuckles and sweat a lot.
  • MOrin' All,

Why is it that kids can sleep til you wake them at 7 on weekdays, but they're wide awake and bothering us at 6 on the weekend?!

John, Sorry to hear about the candy bars, but at least you had the sense to stop after the 2nd one! Sounds like you need to pack a cooler with some healthy snacks to bring with you! Carrot sticks, celery sticks, ranch dip, almonds, stuff like that. Or if you need sweet, at least get some 100 cal packs, better than a 300 something cal candy bar!

Have a lot of work to do today, it's supposed to only be around 82 today, so we're gonna try and work in the garage.

    Have a great day all!
  • Morning Everyone,
John hope you have a good day at work. Did the heat break any there yet? Sounds like you will have a nice time tomorrow with your car club at the cookout. What would your side job be?
Lauren I know your pain honey! When my stepkids spend the night or the weekend at our house, they are up at the crack of dawn. Guess who has to get up with them and let your royal highness sleep? You guessed it me. But when we have somewhere to go early in the day, they want to be left alone to sleep. Hope you can squeeze in a little time today for a short nap. Your weather sounds lovely. I am hoping that our weather is only to be in the 80's today too. I haven't checked the weather yet. Enjoy your busy day!
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I don't know what I will get into today. I hope not a whole lot.
I am not too happy with my dh right now. He went with one of our friend's to a football scrimmage last night. They left at 4 p.m. and he still wasn't home when I went to bed at 1 a.m. Tell me a football scrimmage last that long. I even called his cell phone to talk to him and it went right to voice mail. So it might just be a silent day around my house.
    Chat with you all later.

  • Morning all!
I actually got to sleep until 9:00 am this morning..Woo hoo for the kids! Sorry for those of you who had to get up early..YUCK! I really should get back in the swing of things. School starts on Wed. and NONE of us are ready to start getting up that early.
John--Today is a new day. Don't let those candy bars get you down. The 100 cal. pack is a great idea. I have a terrible time with sweets too. Still haven't got it under control.
Kerry Im with you. I hate it when I try to call DH and he doesn't answer. I'm sure there was a very good reason. Dont let yourself get too worked up over it. That always leads me to stress eating.
Not sure what we are doing today. Prob. a little school shopping. THe weather is kicking us all in the hiney..100+ here. ugh!! Hard to work out when it's this hot.
Have a great weekend to all and let's all make good food choices..

  • Lauren- I pack my lunch and snacks everyday. The problem was I ran out of water so I went into a convince store on HIN campus and they had a complete wall of candy! An with what I mood was and the feelings I had I just broke down and bought them. Both candy bars came in just at 300 cal combined lol. But dark chocolate is what bring me around faster then anything including wellburn and Prozac. (cheaper too lol).

Today is frigging great about 80 degrees and low humidity tho the garages are still hot. I felt like I needed a jacket after coming out of one of the garages today lol.

Kerry - If I get I'll be putting in an alert system for a drive thru liquor store. So they know someone is at the drive thru.

Somehow I bruised my elbow and forearm of my left arm which is my trucker's arm and I can't get comfy in my work truck LOL. Then today I was finishing a telephone system and cracked my head on a metal desk getting up LOL. I going for a nice long walk this evening if I don't kill myself first LOL. **** even last night I was in my cage(supply room at work) my one foot a gate Assembly and dead stop my other foot found a grease spot and kept on going and I ended up doing a split. I'm not meant to do splits. I didn't really hurt myself but I was sore for a few hours lol. This is why I don't go into china or glass shops or shops have have fragile expensive things cause I can be such a clusts at times.
  • Afternoon All,
Glad you are all having a great day! I am very upset right now. I didn't get to spend time with my honey at all yesterday. So then he lets it slip that he didn't get home until 3 a.m. this morning. Well we have just ran out of things like toliet paper, toothpaste, etc. We were suppose to go to the store today and get them. Well he informs me that I have to go get all the stuff because he promised his ex-wife that he would take the kids to the end of the season pool party at our city pool. Even though it is her weekend with them. Well the two boys get into a knock down drag out fight with fists and feet flewing this morning. So their punishment is not to go and they have to stay at home all weekend long. Which I think is good enough for them. But their mom can't even take the time to run their sister into town. I was on my way out the door to go run my errands and he tells his ex-wife that I will be out to pick her up for her. Now why do I always have to save the day for everyone else? No one seems to do that for me. I get to their house and she is not even ready. So I drop her off at the pool and tell her that her dad is on the way. I stop by the restuarant my sil works at and get a chef salad for lunch. Then I proceed to go to the store. I call my dh and ask him when he thinks he will be home and he gives me the typical male answer of "I don't know, I guess when I get there." Then he proceeds to tell me this morning that we need to mow the yard sometime this weekend. So you know what we will be doing tomorrow instead of spending time together doing some thing fun we will be working in the yard. Maybe my school can't get finished fast enough. Then he will be the one to complain about not spending time with me. Sorry for going off like that but it just pisses me off when I have to pick up the pieces for everyone else, but when I want help they tell me that oh you can handle it.
Heather, hope you have fun shopping for school stuff. I have to go sometime and get my clothes for school. I just don't know when that will be. I might just borrow my stepdaughter on a Saturday and take her with me. School is suppose to start on Sept. 4th. Did you say that you were a teacher? If so, what grade? I teach Special Needs children 6th through 8th grade. He said that his phone went dead. But if I don't answer my phone when he calls I get the spanish inquistion.
John sorry to hear about all your little mishaps over the last two days. Hope things get better for you. Enjoy your walk this evening. That is something that I need to get back into the habit of doing. Since the heatwave, I haven't worked out any. Now I guess I can without any excuses.
Well I am off to take me a cat nap. Chat with you all later.
    Kerry
  • Hello Everyone. We spent the whole day out with the kids. We started with Alex's swimming lesson at 10 (poor boy was FREEZING! It rained all day yesterday and it was COLD last night, believe it or not.), then went to a kid's festival that turned out to be a total bust so we took them to the county fair. Alex had an absolute blast. It was wrist band day from 11-4 so he got to ride everything multiple times.

John: Hope you got your walk in and didn't kill yourself. Good for you for stopping at two candybars!

Lauren: Hope you got the garage all cleaned out.

Kerry: Can you just say no? No, I won't be doing that. I have other things to do. You will have to pick up your own pieces.

Heather: Oooh, I'm jealous. I would have loved to sleep until 9! Our kids were up at 7:30. Better than 6, but I was up until 1. I couldn't get to sleep after I went to bed.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
  • no walk best friend came back from Vac and we went to dinner. I got to get back on track otherwise I'm going to erase everything i done so far.
  • Mornin' All!

Got quite a bit done in the garage yesterday, so I'm happy! If it's not too hot today, I'm gonna see if we can get back out there and work on emptying the attic over the garage, which is packed.

    Have a great day all!
  • Morning all, Hope everyone has a great day.
  • Top of the Mornin' Everyone...

John ~ that is a bummer about relationships/money... I know that it's hard to stay focussed on exercise and diet when you're down in the dumps. Don't give up! You have been doing so well. Losing weight is your first and smartest step in achieving balance in your life.

Lauren ~ I'm envious of those temps! We haven't had rain in weeks and the heat is awful. Every year, come August, I am so sick of summer. I love the fall!! Can't wait... By the way, you are fortunate to pack up what you need and move over to the new house at your leisure. Sure beats doing it all in one day. Also, I like the old pink bathrooms and I'd work with black and white. White walls and the big old black and white peel and stick tiles on the floor. Those tiles are super cheap.

Hi Heather ~ welcome! School starts this Wednesday for us also. My kids are going get a serious dose of reality come Wednesday morning. We've had the most laid back summer on this end. Will you miss them?

Kerry ~ glad to hear that you finally got some rain and a break from the intense heat. No a.c. would suck. My niece was just telling me how much she loves "The Holiday." She went out and bought a copy so I'm going to borrow it. KarenK had some good advice. Learning to say NO to DH might be hard at first but believe me, it gets easier LOL:-). People treat you how you let them and it's time to for you start taking care of yourself.

KarenK ~ I always enjoy reading about what your kids are up to. It brings back memories... my youngest is now the same age as Alex and it seems like just yesterday when my oldest was that little. My whole day was spent with them and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Yes, I was tired a lot and felt like all I did was nurse but they were such precious days; lots of kisses and hugs... It's hard to believe that this is my last year home with my
youngest:-(. Part of me is looking forward to having more time for myself but another part is a little sad as I love babies so much. Just not enough to have another one! DH would love for us to adopt in a year or so but I'm very, very hesitant. He hasn't mentioned it in several months as I sat him down and told him all of my concerns.

These last few days have been busy ones. I'm looking forward to school starting this week and getting back into a routine. Eating has been so-so but my exercise time has been great. This morning is the first morning that I haven't exercised as soon as I got up. I plan on doing it later today. Plus, I'm still taking my evening walk. I don't think that I've lost any weight this week but I tried on a pair of cropped pants the other day that were super tight at the beginning of summer and now they're loose. What a GREAT feeling that is! My hubby will be home shortly from his long run (14 miles ~ crazy man!) so I'm fixing a nice breakfast. Hugs to every
    one ~ Joan
  • Good Morning all!
Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. Did some school shopping, not a lot of clothes, because they will need jeans soon but just not yet. Over 100 degrees here. They have plenty of summer things to start with. But we did get supplies, backpacks etc. Then we all hung out at home. Kinda boring, but kinda nice also. Eating was pretty good yesterday. Usually at night when the kids are all tucked in is when I want to mindlessly munch. So I kept walking to the kitchen to eat, but everytime I talked myself out of those Cheddar Jack Cheezits that were calling my name. Yay for me. Made without snacking.

Kerry-I hope things get better around your house. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say No. Easier said than done I know especially when it's just easier to "keep the peace" by doing what needs to be done. Yes, I am a teacher, as in I have a teaching degree, but I chose to stay home with my kids instead of working. Now they are both in school full time, one is in 1st and the other in 4th, but I just haven't had to go back to work yet. Are you ready to go back, or dreading it?

Karen-Sounds like a wonderful time at the fair. I am jealous of your cool temps. I am absolutely 100% ready for Fall. Football weather as I like to call it.lol

John-Don't stress the weekend. You will get back on track soon with exercise. I need too as well. The heat is just kicking me in the butt!! Hang in there.

Joan- Thanks for the welcome. School mornings will def. kick our butt. We have stayed up late and slept in ALL summer. I am ready for school. I like the routine of it all. The kids are bored and spend countless hours arguing. So they are ready as well. I do miss them, but its nice also. Last year was the first year my youngest was in school all day. THAT was tough. It was the first time in 9 years that I haven't had children with me at least 1/2 a day. I cried when I left him at school. BUT it got easier then it was nice to have ME time, and time to do things that are easier w/o kids around. cleaning out closets etc. I am ready for cooler weather though. This Oklahoma heat is killing me.

Lauren- Glad you got lots done in your garage. It's always a good feeling when you see progress isn't it.

Well of to do some laundry. Have a great day.
    Heather
  • good sunday everyone!

just wanted to say hi...hope everyone has a great sunday...i will come back on later today and catch up....im gonna go get ready to see my dominic!

    have a great one!
  • Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to say hi. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! Actually did talk to my dh about how I was treated on Friday night or ignored and then having to run out to get his daughter. I told him I don't mind helping out a little bit but not everytime. That their mom should have been the one to take them in to the pool. Then when the boys saw all their friends and had to go back home that would have taught them a lesson. Spent the evening with my dh last night. We went out for dinner and then ended up going over to a friend's house from 10 until about 5 this morning. We were sitting out on the back porch just hanging out. Everytime we tried to leave he kept saying no don't leave yet. Finally at 5 I said sorry but I am tired. So we came home and fell asleep at 5:30 and woke up at 12:30. So now I trying to get my dh to get a move on so we can go get something to eat. I am starving right now. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend's. I will check back in with you all later. Hoping we go somewhere healthy for lunch.
    Take care,
    Kerry
  • Hey, all. Sounds like most of us are just plain pooped. Heat was a killer today (104). Must send this heat back to AZ where it belongs.

Kerry - glad you talked with DH and things seem smoothed out. Sounds like you had a nice night out.

John - Hang in there. You sound like such a sweet man. Don't beat yourself up over the slipups. Just pick yourself back up and try again. It's all we can do.

Christina - Have a good visit with Dominic

Heather - Great job on resisting the Cheez-its! Send me some of that will power.

MO - Is your computer fixed yet? Have you slept yet? We miss you.

Well, it's only 5 days till my plane leaves. WOOHOO. I am sick of work. Mostly the employee issues. Trying to balance pharmacy with front end mgrs who don't understand our life is taxing sometimes.
