Changing my goal...

  • I started out with a goal of 130... and I have been really thinking about this. Now that I am almost 20 pounds lighter I am starting to get a lot more comfortable with my body and I really can not imagine myself 30 pounds lighter. Therefore, I have decided to change my goal to 140. I remember being 140 in my high scool days when I was healthy and active. I think this is probably my ideal weight, because I don't really remember being lighter than that. I always sat comfortably around 140. Once I get to 140 and I continue with my healthy lifestyle and the weight continue to comes off then great! But, right now, I'm aiming for 140. Anyone, else change their goal midway?
  • I have changed my goals just recently--although I went in the opposite direction. My initial goal weight was 145--but as I've crept closer to the 140's , I realized that I definitely have more than 8 pounds left to lose. My upper body has slimmed out, but I'm only just starting to have weight come easily off my belly/hips. I changed my goal weight to 135--hoping to get there by the end of October

I think it's awesome that you're brave enough to realize that "Hey...losing LESS than I had planned to is okay!"--it's a sure sign you're in the right frame of mind about your body. Congrats on all your weightloss so far
  • Yes -- I keep lowering mine. My original goal was 150, then 147, then 145. Now it's 138.

Honestly, I don't even know if it's achievable and realistic. I've never been below 147 lbs. in my adult life. I'm trying to be ambitious here, but it may be too low of a weight for me to maintain. Gonna see how it goes.

I have to say, I think you are smart in being realistic! And a goal is just a goal, an idea. No reason you can't change it. I may very well change mine back to 145.
  • btw, congrats on your loss!

    (you too, azure!)
  • I just recently changed my goal too, but in the other direction like Azure. My initial goal was 155 but I think that 145 is probably better. I'm not afraid to readjust again if need be. Unfortunately, I have no idea what my weight was before I gained so much.
  • Thanks for the encouraging words you guys... I'm really feeling good about changing it! You guys are doing such an amazing job, Congrats to you guys as well!!
  • Big congrats on your loss!

I have my goal at 135, though I have a feeling that losing 20 more pounds still won't be good enough, since I've already lost 20 pounds and it doesn't seem like that much. In the past, I've been happiest in the 115-125 range, but I'm trying to be realistic. I have a feeling I will probably knock my goal down to 125, though.
