Horrible, cheat-filled day!

  • Ugh, this is the first really bad day I've had since starting my plan 4 weeks ago and it feels horrible! I was doing ok until I took the boys I nanny to the movies, where I proceded to eat Milk Duds and popcorn! Then I came home to do my workout, got through my strength training, then tried to do day 3 of C25K and only got through 6 minutes!!! That crappy food made me feel horrible, and for some reason my shins are killing me, so I'll have to do it in the morning. I'm going out with the girls tonight, and was really looking forward to it, but now I'm in a horrible mood! How do you get over it when you've had a bad day???
  • ugh, i know what you mean. I had oreos today and some french fries AND a small happy meal (plain) hamburger...I blame that on my son, because he wouldn't eat it...but I felt so tired earlier after I ate that and I know I should have had those Oreos to top it off...

I would say just remember that it was only a day and you can always start over tomorrow...I have to remind myself that. Good luck!

This is your first really big test. Stay strong! Dust yourself off and keep on trucking. Bad days will happen. The real challenge is making sure you don't let one bad day turn into 3 or 4 or more!

Remember this feeling next time you reach for the naughty foods! DH and I ordered pizza last night and my body reminded me this morning how intolerant it's become to grease.

Keep your chin up and try to remember that bad days happen; its what we do after the bad day that counts most!

  • Brittany, stay strong! One bad day isn't going to kill the progress you've made. I'm cheating tonight too- I worked all day and I'm EXHAUSTED... and so hungry... so there's a froze pizza being cooked in the oven right now. It fits into my calorie count but I still feel guilty.
  • One day doesn't ruin everything unless you let it!

When I take my daughter to the movies, I usually bring in some snacks for both of us in my bag.. she doesn't need the crap there any more then I do. I pop a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and split it between two ziplock bags, and bring in something else.. like a 100 calorie bag of chocolate/caramel chex or some candy (one serving) and a bottle of water or diet iced tea. It really works and I feel like I'm snacking still without the million calories/fat.
  • hey, that's a good idea, mama!
  • One "bad" day isn't going to stop your progress. Don't worry about it too much. Life is not meant to be lived perfectly. Like Marine Princess said don't make into a habit. I allow myself to have stuff like that. Yesterday I had a McDonald's Ice Cream cone, today I'll have some Baklava. Tomorrow is a new day! Go with your girlfriends and have a great night!
  • Thanks for the advice guys! I get one "free day" a week on my current diet, so I just went ahead and turned yesterday into that free day, and today I'm back on track. I'm going to take a much needed day of rest (about to go lay by the pool) so tomorrow I can return to my workouts with some renewed energy.

Mama - those are great ideas. My boyfriend and I are going to see the Simpsons movie tonight, so I'm going to try that out!
