Milk and Yogurt in the EFS plan?

  • The book says to have a glass of milk (skim) and a yogurt (light) daily. Do those count as your two snacks??? Today was my first day and I counted the yogurt as a snack but not my glass of milk. Anyone know?? Thanks!
  • The book is unclear on many points such as this and it says you "can" have yogurt or milk during the day. I take this to mean that you can have theses things in addition to your normal 4 meals and two snacks. I personally consider the yogurt to be a snack, especially since I am in the slow-losers category. I think you need to try it and see how your body reacts. I think the main thing is get the calcium you need. If you find that you're not losing the way you want, then start counting the milk as a snack instead of an extra. However, this diet is so low in calories, I don't think that a nonfat yougurt or a nonfat milk serving is really going to hurt too much.

    Hope this helps some!
