Staying on Phase 1 or 2 longer than dictated

  • Hello all,

I may sound a little pretentious as i'm only finishing day 5 of detox, but has anyone had long-term success either staying on phase 1, staying on phase 2, or doing some modification of the two? Do you have to keep going to p3 and p4? I guess i say this because i really havent found it to be that difficult (besides the LOADS of cooking that my fiancee and I never did before) to stick with phase 1...Havent missed bread or meat a bit..

Any stories would be very helpful!

    Thanks,
  • Hi xodus - I'm certainly not an expert, but I've been following P1 since mid-May (with only a couple of slip-ups ), and have lost about 30 lbs so far. I, like you, feel fine and find the plan very easy to follow. If I do have a minor set back, it's really easy to jump back on. I figure that with so much to lose, I need to extend all of the phases - ok, there's some logic hidden in there, I'm sure , but I'm not sure what it is!

    Good luck!
  • I would like to know this also!! It's only day 2 of phase 1 for me but I am willing to try Phase 2 obviously...I'll stick through the 3 weeks but if I don't lose much then I am going back to Phase 1 immediately! (well that is, if Phase 1 is immaculate!)...I definetly cannot get into Phase 3 until I lose the actual fat off of me...and I need a good 15-20 by beginning of September..must work hard!
  • I have been curious about this too. Today is Day 1 of Phase 1 for me. I have 75 lbs to lose. Do you keep losing throughout all the phases? I guess I'm also curious if you should stay in a phases longer in you have more to lose. Maybe extend Phase 2 to 6 weeks instead of 3. Has anyone done this?

I'm very excited about this new way of eating (I will not call it a diet). I'm looking at this as the 1st day of the rest of my life.
