Hi, Can I be a newbie?

  • Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie around here. I've been hanging around with 100 lbs to lose forever, and then all of a sudden, about a week ago, I decided to actually try to do something about it mostly because I'm going on vacation and was worried I was too out-of-shape to run around after my toddler (and I'm no spring chicken neither...)

I'm counting calories... and things are going surprisingly well so far... but that never lasts

Hope ya'll don't mind keeping company with me.

Job one is to believe in yourself!!!!! If you already believe your efforts aren't going to last, then they won't. Plain and simple. It's all about getting yourself in the right frame of mind. The rest of it is remarkably easy after that.

I'm glad you found the site! It's a great bunch of people who are a tremendous source of support. Great job on sticking to your plan for your first week! That's a huge hurdle right there.
  • Hi all,

Thanks for the hellos. I feel more at home already! I'm a writer and I've found that participating in forums helps a lot with the hard work of writing a 300 or 400 page novel... why not with losing a mere 100 lbs...?

And hey, I just realized, I don't even have 100 to lose anymore!
  • Welcome! Keeping up with kids is always tough...doesn't matter how fit you are, they ALWAYS have more energy. But running around after them is both good motivation, and good exercise!
  • Welcome Ubergirl!
No spring chicken here, either!! You've already made some progress, so that helps! I look forward to getting to know you more!
  • Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm feeling at home already!
