I'm new, too.

  • Just found this place. I like it. Been trying hard since March first and have only managed forty-five pounds. I'm not giving up this time.

I'm sleeping better, breathing better, feeling a great deal better, all the time.
Was laid off work February 28th, the end of twenty years staring at a computer screen, sitting on my duff twelve hours a day.

I scared myself last month. Looked down and saw my toes, without bending over, thought something was gettin' me. LOL

Sunshine or rain, walking never felt so good.
  • When I started this grand geriatric/bariatric experiment, I could not walk across the yard to the mailbox at the road, could not lift the barbell with five pound weights, could not even do a decent situp.

I worked slowly, only asking for a little more each day. I worked up to walking two miles twice a day, working weights every other day, bench pressing fifty pounds sixty reps (not much I know, but at least I'm trying).

Three weeks ago I hit a plateau and could not get past the 200 mark. I cut the protein drink out and let up on the intensity of the workouts and was about to give up, when the weight began to fall off again. I guess prayers do help, cause I'm on the way down again.
  • just 45 pounds since March?That is over 11 pounds a month.That is a great loss don't belittle yourself.
  • Welcome and congrats on your amazing progress!!

  • Just wanted to say welcome, and hope to be seeing more of you around here.
