Daily - Wednesday - Dec 12th

  • Good Morning Everyone!

    Coffee is on....

    Enjoy the day, talk later........
  • Not even Wednesday here yet, but close enough. I was just chatting on-line with my daughter's MIL in S. Africa, so that makes me an honorary S. African and it's Wednesday there. Does that make sense? Looks like Hensa and I are the early birds today.
Pooky, I just received your darling Xmas card today. You sure put a lot of work into it. Thanks so much. I've tried to cut back on my card list this year so not sending to on-line pals but I do send out my best to all of you anyhow.

Today I went to my hairdresser daughter and got a touch up to my color and a trim. Feeling all spruced up now for the festive season. I actually went and bought a couple of Christmas gifts too and stocked up on my meat for the month. Just a few more gifts to buy and I'm ready for anything. Baked my first Christmas cookies last night and am steadfastly refusing to have anything to do with them.

We had a rare sunny day and the mountains were glistening under a dusting of new snow. Thank heavens it's up there and we're down here. You folks who live in big snow country have no idea what it's like here when we get hit by a rare snowstorm. Everything just grinds to a halt with fender benders the rule of the day. It's really pitiful. People here don't bother with winter tires because snow is so rare so they're tooling around in slush and ice with summer tires and they haven't a clue what to do when they skid or get stuck. Lots of rubber gets burned off those spinning tires.
  • Morning Glories!
Hensa! Thank you so much for that cup of coffee! If I could I would stick my whole head in there in an attempt to wake up. I have not been sleeping well, or often and been troubled with nightmares concerning the boys...WHAT the heck is that about!

Linda! I dipped my own head in the bucket yesterday...Preference by Loreal medium ash brown for inquiring minds! It is a tad darker then my own hair color but I am sure it will lighten up a bit although I am concerned that as it does that it will go a brassy red. Brassy red? I've been told I would have made a dandy red head!

December 12th!!! when did that happen? Getting down to crunch time here in the pit household and I find that stress eating is creeping back into my life...not good, I need protein, energy and strength. So where the heck are those Shakley vitamins I purchased from my friend's kid???!!!!!! Anyone tried those? I bought the one month packet.

I am blabbering? Well Golly gee!

    have a good one!

  • Happy Hump Day!

Wow! Hensa is starting her day at the same time LindaBC is ending hers! Makes you realize how far apart we are - except for Peachie who is 7 hours away from me according to Expedia.

Well, the Christmas tree is in the living room and partially assembled - another limited success. We will finish assembly this morning before my music class and I sure hope to decorate it this afternoon. I have a bit of shopping left to do in town but will rush that along. Christmas cards are finally in the mail.

Have a good day, Chickies. Gotta go open sardines for Her Furry Majesty's breakfast. She'll have lousy breath for the day but imporoved fur will be worth it. I am thinking of making her a fake Persian lamb dog coat for entertainment wear.
  • Hi all...another early morning...gallbladder attack started about an hour ago Had to get up and take two tylenol #3, thought I would kill time and take mind off of things until they kick in as am keeping my hubby awake with all my tossing and turning.....can't figure out what I ate to trigger it...

Off today, will definaltly be taking your advise Ruth and purchasing some goodies for tonight for GG...

With every attack I am so afraid that this will be the one to put me in the hospital...can't wait to see surgeon in Jan and just get the darned thing out...

Just about finished my cards last night, so will get my parcel and cards mailed today...think my parcel will make it to Maryland on time?

Hoping to get wrapping today, I love that part of the preparations...

Well it is only 5 am so I think I will go back to bed and get a couple more hours..

Good day to you all and hope to see some of you around the boards or on the chat soon!

    Liz
  • Good morning to all!!

I have had no time to post so I must go back and catch up. Spent the weekend in FL with DH it was lovely, we flew down and drove our new(used) jeep back, long ride but quiet with no kids.

Hope to finish shopping today, Yikes where does the time go???

Have lost 3.8 lbs in 2 weeks. I am happy with that considering the time of year. Have been staying away from sugar completely(proud of me nasus?) and yesterday we had a cookie exchange at work, well I ate a piece of fudge(pure sugar) it made me sick and I threw up. WOW, no more fudge for me, lt me tell ya that will cure the urge.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
  • Good Morning Chicks!

Thanks for the kudos Linda, it was fun to make them!

Today is used furniture shopping day--today I am hitting the sally Ann and Goodwill to see whatthey have. I need 2 big stuffed chairs and 1 loveseat. I will be slipcovering them in denim to go in my improved basement.

I know that some chicks would like me to bottle my energy but honestly, it is the only way I can keep myself from snacking and stay out of the kitchen! I figure if I have busy hands then there's little time to snack.

Have a great day everyone and Ruth? you'd better step on it girl, the tree needs to go up!

Here's a pic of my basement now

  • Happy Day Chickies,

Boy I sure have a lot to do and time is a running out! I am trying to finish my cards, I have to wrap small gifts for the boys classmates, finish making teacher gifts, wrap family gifts, decorate, finish shopping (with no money) and clean house. Wish I could quit working for the rest of the year.

I almost feel guilty posting here, I am not following the lc lifestyle at the moment. I am a lc-er at heart, but for the moment I am just trying to maintian through the month and keep busy enough to avoid eating too many carbs (Pooky is so right about that one).
I just seem too busy to plan the right meals and I just do not have a taste for anything in particular, just do not know what I want to eat.

Ruthie, my Kudo used to be partial to canned Kippers. I think I will have to get them again as he is having a bit of a dander problem with his coat.

Peachie I am a Preference girl myself!

Leens, It is so fun to watch them grow, I have many kids clothes that never were worn out, just out grown.

Pooky, I love shopping the Goodwill, it is like an adventure looking for hidden treasure.

Liz, I hope your attach has calmed down.

Linda, surprised to see you posting at the beginning of our daily! Lucky you, getting to see snow!

    Hi Hensa!

    Have a great day gals,

    jenny
  • Hi girls! You all are so busy and yess Scooby i am very proud of you for that. I am sorry that the fudge made you throw up though it would have been nice to atleast enjoy a treat!!!

I did my presentation yesterday and i will say that i did some numbers yesterday for it and figured out that with my exercising i have gained 40 lbs of muscle which means if i have lost over 100 lbs of fat! I am absolutly amazed. that is about 17 milk gallon jugs full of fat! OMG!!!

well i must go and FLY lady stuff. I love that woman!!!

Pooky you are so creative!!! I love the card!!! and the idea for the sofa's are great!!!
  • God Morning everyone!

Peach You dissing redheads girlfriend? Granted, mine is Loreal Excellence 6RB, but I should've been born one! Seriously, I hope you can get some sleep. Sleep deprivation's the worst. You can end up with glass splinters in your butt!

Liz That attack sounds horrible. I hope you're okay.

Ruth I think you oughta consider a lovely ersatz rabbit ensemble for her majesty. You could do little booties and everything!

Rachel Wow! 3.8 pounds in 2 weeks is great. I had a similar experience with sugary junk. I baked and ate on Sunday and paid the price on Monday. Lesson learned!

Pooky The Trading Spaces designers would be proud. Is the wall sponged or textured somehow? Love the color! I think Doug would refer to it as Tuscan something or other.

Jenny Don't feel guilty posting here. You'll get back OP when you're ready and you'll be ready sooner if you stick with us.

Susan Wow. Wow again! Is there an easy way to figure how much fat you've lost and how much muscle you've gained? I've had body fat tests before, but it would sure be an incentive if I had a way to measure muscle gained during exercise (which I've been slacking off on!). Bad Chickadee!

Well all, now that I've posted it's probably the kiss of death for this thread. I'm not even in the Pacific time zone. So if you see this, have a great day!
    Chickadee
  • So five minutes after I logged off I had a wicked attack and had to be rushed to ER by my dh....did pass with time, but probably a sign that I won't last for long now....hope you all had an ok day...bye for now...Liz
  • OH Liz take it easy. My thoughts are with you!

chickadee tyhere is a calculator on line that i found was fairly good.

    http://healthcentral.com/cooltools/C...s/bodyfat1.cfm

Just have a tape measure ready and no one around. pass the numbers to me if you can not figure them out. You can pm me if you want. i will need the weight and bf% for each measurement. It sure is great to see that kind of success show up. the BF% does not change quickly so i know how the actual munbers can help.
  • Evening ladies!

    Just a quick hello-goodbye chick-in.

We are a busy bunch! And so creative!

Pooky -- I LOVE your floor color! And the walls -- did you rag them? I was reading about the procedure and a friend (who is a darn sight more talented than I) took a one-day class but couldn't master the technique. She got so many great ideas to do w/paint -- one that sounded particularly intriguing was to buy flat and satin in the exact same color and do stripes. She said it comes out looking like expensive wallpaper. I LOVE PAINT!

And Chickadee!! We ARE twins! I use Excellence 6RB too! (not that I need it! ) Too strange. You wouldn't happen to have any Missouri hillbilly relatives, would you?

Grading papers research papers all day tomorrow...feel sorry for me. I certainly do!

Life-time-money- they're all going way too fast -- and it's deja vu all over again!

    Later!
    Sooner
