Aspartame

  • Hey Ladies:
    I've been trying to up my water intake pretty successfully with my giant WW 32 oz mug (hey Jessie!). I noticed something wierd today. Usually I use those Water bottle tubes with drink mix in it made with splenda. I'm not big on strong flavors so one does me for 4 cups.
    Today i forgot my usual stuff by found some Lemonade mix in my desk (I swear I'm part squirrel when it comes to hiding stuff just in case!) I started drinking it. Suddenly I was very Jittery couldn't concentrate and wanted CRAP like Candybar cookie X Y Z you name it not to mention for over an hour I couldn't sit still and I felt Nuts! I eat the same thing every day the only difference was today I had aspartame. Have you all experienced anything like this?

  • My WW leader says that drinking diet coke (nutrasweet) makes her crave sweets insanely. I drink diet soda regularly so maybe I am just always on that sugar rush!
  • I find that eating/drinking fake sugar makes me more susceptible to the real stuff! It may be chemical or mental but it happens!
  • Diet soda makes me crave sweets too. I just noticed this in the last few days. When I get through the last of my caffeine free diet Pepsi, I think I'm moving on to flavored LaCroix waters instead.
