the way my body is shaped, I actually have to do that to parts of my clothes!
The arms and neck, mainly. I have a very very short neck, almost nothing there, actually, and my arms are my problem area, so I stretch the sleeves and the neck on my shirts, so they arent snug. I dont like snug clothes at any rate. I only started wearing jeans about 3 years ago!
Normally, right after I wash any pair of jeans, I wear them around the house for at least an hour before I wear them anywhere. It gives them a chance to form to my body. There are some other things, like wool sweaters that I try to stretch out when the shrink, but I am never truly successful.
Just two days ago, I was having this very conversation with two women in the locker room. It was funnier because the conversation included demonstrations of these clothes-stretching moves. It's a pretty common thing, especially right after the wash.
I do it mainly with t-shirts. I have giant man shoulders and big upper arms. That's why I like to wear shirts from the boy's department. Wider shoulders and arms than juniors and women's stuff.
When I was a kid, my mom used to do that to all of my clothes, lol. I always found it a little pointless, but I have done it before. And just to confess for my hubby: he does it every morning.
