Kickboxing saved my life

  • When i got out of college i realized i had gained like 30 pounds. I use to run a lot but my knees were sooo shot...and i was so frustrated by that point.
I found this really small kickboxing place near my house in NYC on 53rd between 3rd and lex and went in...i've been here for three years...lost more than 30 pounds but more importantly i feel amazing...i get to kick *** three days a week which is just awesome...and its not that expensive...i used to be a member at a fitness club but it cost me an arm and a leg...so now i actually feel...strong...and good...soo good
  • That's great that you found some exercise that you love. It seems like a really great and intense form of exercise. I used to go to a boxing class and man, that kicked my butt but it was so good for me. I stopped going because I pulled a quad lifting weights and then it all went to the wayside, but I wish I would have never stopped.
  • Yeah - kickboxing seems like fun... like anything else! - until you HURT yourself.... (Beach Patrol says "OUCH" really loud.......)

That's how I tore my rotator cuff (the 1st time!) in the late 90's....

I WISH I could go back to it, tho! Darn good exercise, and it is a good feeling to feel strong.
  • Kickboxer, your email address indicates that you're the business owner, not the grateful client who you are trying to portray. Care to comment?
  • Hmmm... I wondered why the poster put the ADDRESS of the place in her post....
  • Meg!!

  • And here I thought this was going to be some chick's story about how she used kickboxing to a mugger and that's how it "saved her life."
  • lol
