does anyone know where i could get some denim overalls? none of the big gal stores i go to carry them anymore. preferably something bigger than a size 26.

Try any farm supply store. Around Wisconsin we have Fleet Farm Store. I hear there are Farm and Fleet Stores in different parts of the country. They will be in men sizes though.

I have seen plus size at Target. Don't know what sizes they carry but worth a try if you live near one.
