WLS Tattoos...

  • Has anyone else had a tattoo done to celebrate their WLS? I had a butterfly done to symbolize my rebirth...because before WLS I was mearly existing...now I'm living. Also, as a part of that I have the chinese symbol for "little sister" as I became good friends with a bunch of other post op ladies who were all further out than I and they "adopted" me as a little sister...providing me support when I needed it. You know...the support that can only come from another post op...

    So...here's a pic of it...

  • Goddess, I'm not a WLS patient, but I couldn't help but notice this post. My plan is to get a tattoo of a variation of Picasso's butterfly once I have hit my goal. This is what I have so far:

Obviously not with a pink background.
  • I didnt let me being fat from stoping me from getting a tattoo on my lower back (surrounded by what I like to call cat scratches)a.k.a stretchmarks
  • I also have a tattoo on my lower back that I got when I was 250 lbs...it didn't loose shape or anything as I lost weight...but it did get smaller. This tattoo was in celebration of my weight loss...it was also my 6th tattoo...

  • I am planning on getting a tattoo once I reach goal. I originally wanted a full back Japanese cherry blossom tree, but I am thinking about maybe getting something smaller and more discreet now..I just love those cherry blossoms though.
  • I intend to have another tattoo done, I have one on my ankle I got when I was preggers with my son 10 years ago, when I lose my first 100lbs. As of this morning, I am halfway to my goal and am feeling good.
  • LOL - no WLS but I just got my first piercing to celebrate my weight loss !!! I plan to go for my first tattoo in 32 more pounds !!!
  • I really like your butterfly! It seems so magical.. so much . . like . . a re-birth. I guess that was your point.
