1/2 Proteins on Red

    Does anyone have a list off hand?
    How much cottage cheese is equal to 1/2 protein?

  • 1/2 protein worth of cottage cheese= 3/8 (1/4 + 1/8) of a cup or 6 tblsp. Believe me. I know. I do it all of the time. I do half peanut butter a lot too. And half egg beaters is easy to measure too! Let me know if you need anything else!
  • What is 1/2 PB?
    1 TBS? or is it 1 and 1/2 TBS?

  • Well a whole is 3 Tbls so half is 1 1/2 Tbls. And remember that 3 tsp=1 Tbls. So half PB in other words ould be 1 Tbls plus 1 1/2 tsp. Does that make sense?
  • I do 2 oz of Deli Meat most mornings for a half. It's the easiest thing to measure out.

    If you go for soy beans, it's one cup, or roughly 5 ozs if they're still in the shell. Also 2 1/2 Tbsp of Nuts, I round it up to 3 and count it as a 1/2 P and a Fat if I need to squeeze a fat in.

    3 Veggie Chicken Nuggets and 1 Turkey Burger (most pre-fabbed are 4 oz each) round out my trusty list of half proteins.

    Can you tell I've been on red for a while?
  • When I was on red, my favorite 1/2 protein was fat free or skim ricotta cheese. 3 oz worth. I cannot remember the measure. Might have been 1/2 cup. Just heat it slightly in a microwave to warm it and sprinkle with cinnamon. Yummy. Eat in by itself in a bowl, add fruit, or have it over 1/2 Thomas lite English muffin. Cinnamon is reputed to be beneficial to help lower blood pressure.
