She said the prettiest place on Earth...

    Hello Ladies!!!

My name is Mickey. I'm brand new to this. I stumbled across it actually searching for places to help me quit smoking (but that's a story in itself).

I've been struggling with weight for about 3 years (Not obese, just pudgy). To make a poor excuse, I'm a recent "OMG, I'm 21" and have been drinking and partying excessively since high school (lame, I know). But now that I can do it legally whenever and wherever doesn't help (can we say calories??). Last summer, I quity my job, and gained over 25lbs in 3 MONTHS. It was bad.

POINT BEING: My boyfriend of 4 and a half years left for miliary a short while ago and I have less than 8 weeks left until his return. I NEED TO KICK MY BUTT INTO GEAR I want to be the way I was when we first met (granted, I was 16 with a 16-year-old's metabolism, but I want to be healthy)

I have read multiple threads and this sounds like such a great, GREAT community of support. *tear*

I did manage to lose 10 pounds, but I'm still considered over-weight. So I've started my journey over again from here. I don't want to be a super-model or go to the gym for 5 hours everyday (exaggeration). I just want to feel confortable in my clothes and not have to tug at them to make sure they're covering as much as possible.

I've been exercising and dieting everyday for the past 3 days and i want to continue it! I want to fit into my old clothes and I want to be a healthy non-smoker.

Referring back, I haven't smoked for 2 days, going well without cravings.

I'm good with the exercising, and I've been sticking to the diet, but I'm telling you, not eatting junk is extremely hard.

Anyways, I hope that getting to change my current weight is going to motivate me more and more!

    Good Luck everyone!!!
  • Hi! I'm new here, too. Your weight loss goals are pretty similar to mine. I recently lost 8 pounds via calorie counting - so we're the same weight! ^_^

I've had to give up on alcoholic drinks. I can't stand the thought of just guzzling down all those empty calories. And the day after a night of drinking would always be a bingefest to try to appease my sore stomach. It sucks to not have house parties at our apartment anymore... but the weight loss is a lot more rewarding.

    Best of luck to you!
  • I totally agree with the whole alcohol thing. All of my friends can drink all week for months and not gain a pound. But i've come to realize that will never be me. I'm glad someone agrees that drinking isnt the greatest thing in the world!

Good luck to you too cupcake!!
  • Hi Mickey,

I'm a Baltimore girl and just joined as well. Good luck, hon!
