Typical day - suggestions?

  • I feel like I'm probably lacking somewhere and was wondering if I could get some help from you guys. I'm more concerned with all the adequate nutrition than with calories (I have been in the maintenance phase for about a year and a bit, so I don't naturally overeat anymore)

This was what I had today:

    2 cups grapes
    1 cup cottage cheese
    1 cup miso soup
2 small pumpkin puree pancakes w/low calorie syrup
Stir Fry (2 cups brown rice, 1 cup diced cabbage, 1 cup tofu, 1 egg, 1 shallot, 1 clove garlic, chili paste, soy sauce)
    About 3 litres water
    2-3 cups fat-free milk

I haven't had a dinner meal yet, but it will be a miso soup and something else. Any ideas? I'm not a true vegetarian (I WILL actually eat meat) but I generally do not ever eat it.. just not a big fan.. so any ideas with fish/etc are fine. Thanks
  • I have been supplementing lately with an Omega 3 powder (flax based). I read somewhere that Americans (especially vegetarians) have a major balance problem between Omega 3 and Omega 6. Omega 3 is pretty hard to get as a vegetarian, so I find the powder easiest.
Also make sure to take a multi-vitamin.
  • hi!
Have you tried the veggie burgers/veggie sausage yet? I love those. I use the burger crumbles when making chili, spaghetti, tacos etc.. I like the veggie burgers when the family is cooking out so I fit in. The sausage patties and sausage crumbles are good with sauteed veggies (green peppers and onions---yum!)
    good luck to you!
