Hey there!

  • Hi! I just posted in the Phase 1 forum, but I figured I might as well make myself known over here as well.

    I'm Kara, stay-at-home mom to Connor Thomas (5), Kadyn May (2), and Avery Claire (turned one last Wednesday). Still trying to lose the baby belly so I'm giving this a go. Not usually much for dieting, but I've been on South Beach's Phase 1 for four days now and it's not so bad. I've lost three pounds so far and haven't been fantasizing about cheating so much. I'm a vegetarian, but I've found a good deal of recipes that are pretty darn good!

    My husband, Tom, is in the Air Force and we're currently in South Korea. My youngest sister is getting married in August, so that's motivating me to get in shape. I haven't been able to exercise much since we got here but I did find a yoga class that meets once a week that I LOVE! I've never done yoga before, but it is really fun! The kids and I walk a fair amount, about four miles a day (we don't have a car here!), so I'm counting that as my exercise until I can make some more time in the day. Plus, Avery's still nursing so I figure that burns calories.

    Nice to be here. I'm hoping you all can help me stay on track with this plan. Thanks for having this forum available!

  • Welcome! South Beach Diet is great. I lost 60 lbs on it a few years ago. I'm trying to psyche myself up for trying again...this time sticking with it longer than 7 months! Good luck!
