Thin4Life - Week of May 14/07

  • Hello everyone! Did you have a good Mother's Day? (if you're a mother) I don't know where most of our posters have been, but I hope you're having fun.

Went to WI yesterday and maintained. That's good because I've really been bad lately about my eating habits. That's bad because it's not a weight that I want to be at! Keep plugging along.

Had a good weekend. On Friday, played golf with DH and a friend. Then DH and I went to a baseball game. It was a pleasant evening. On Saturday we saw an acquaintance who is a jazz singer. She really did well.

On Sunday, DH and I went to see the movie, "Hot Fuzz." Very funny and unusual at the same time. Have any of you seen it? I also auditioned for a play called "Night Watch." It's a suspense story. I should find out today.

DH had a MRI yesterday on his knee. He won't know the results till next Monday. He's been told he cannot run, so he's power walking. As some of you know, I'm a walker, so now he's walking with me, but boy does he go fast. We walked 3 miles on Saturday and 2 miles on Saturday, but fast!

    How's everyone else?
  • Good morning!

I had a busy weekend too! Friday I worked at WW and Saturday DH and I went out to lunch and then we ended up meeting with DS #1's future inlaws. We went out to eat and then afterwards went to their house to just talk. We didn't really discuss the wedding--they just wanted to get together with us to meet. It was nice. The wedding plans are coming along--DS #1 tells me they have a list and they've been accomplishing quite a bit. It's hard for me to step back because I like to be involved so this is new to me.

My dad is doing okay--he's recuperating from his surgery although he's still doing things he shouldn't be. It's frustrating but you can't change him.

Work is gaining momentum as we're getting closer to the orientations. I have a trip to Chicago the weekend of June 1st. We're heading there a day early to spend some time downtown in the summer rather than the winter. It should be fun. I may just look for a dress for the wedding while I'm there.

Lisa: My eating hasn't been the greatest and I've been struggling to stay within my range but I've been going above and beyond On a better note I've been walking.

So where's everyone else??? Pam? Susan? Lala? Are you still out there?
  • Melissa, that was good that you met the future in-laws. I'm also glad that your dad is doing better.

Chicago will be a great place to look for a dress for the wedding.
  • The weather here today is fitting my mood--gloomy. We hit a record high of 86 yesterday and today it's barely hitting 50 and it's overcast, grey. *sigh*

I was up .8 at WI today which is okay--TOM is due on Saturday and lately I never know what the scale is going to reflect.

I feel overwhelmed with everything that's on my plate for the next 4 months--I just need to stay focused and not fret over the things I have no control over.

No major plans for this weekend other than the HIghland Games on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Lisa: Are any of the fires near you? I saw a report on the news last evening about how they are spreading and causing roadways to be shut down.
  • Melissa, such temperature swings. It's nice here today--low 80's, but we could use some rain. I wouldn't worry too much about .8 gain, probably TOM. The fires are not too close. There are some near Daytona Beach and farther north in the state. Yes, a portion of some roads have had to be closed, particularly I-75 and I-10. We just need rain.

    What are the Highland Games?

Plans for the weekend are to play some golf. I'm singing at a luncheon with the Italian Club on Saturday. That night DH and I will join some friends to listen to an acoustic group at a local coffee shop.

    Gosh, where is everyone else?
