Newbie here, day 1

  • Good morning! Well I am off to the races! After about 6 weeks of tracking everything I eat and losing about 8 pounds I have realized my downfall. Carbs! So here I am, starting day one of south beach. Why start on a thursday you may ask? It's two fold really! A. Why wait til monday when I am bound to just carb myself to death! B. My daughters graduation is in 2 weeks, add to that memorial weeked! This gets me through the inital 2 weeks before having to go out of town for a long weekend. Hopefully getting me over the rough times and making the food choices a little easier.

I have spent 2 days reading here and getting alot of good tips, I am ready! Here's to day one!

  • Be prepared to feel better than you ever have before. The first couple of weeks can be a bit tough...hang in there. You will be amazed at how clear thinking and energetic you can feel in a couple of weeks. And, the loss of inches and pounds is just another major benefit.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I survived day one! I even managed to start day 2 on a positive! My son who is in college is teaching kindergarten at our local school for the rest of the year as part of his schooling. Today he is teaching about worms and I had to make "dirt cups" (choc pudding, cool whip and cookies" for him to take today and I didn't lick my fingers once! Now that is will power!
