So I have the worst cold I can ever remember having and my nose will not stop running (seriously went through more than one entire thing of Kleenex in less than 24 hours). My nose is so sore I could cry.

I am doing what I can to shorten and relieve my cold, but my nose hurts so bad. Anyone have any good ol' mom remedies for a sore nose?

Vaseline ... grease it up so the tissues just slide right over. It ain't pretty ...

I was just going to say use vicks. Works for me.

My DH swears by echinacea tea and vitamin C.

i almost cried when i put the vicks on, it stung so bad.

Oh, Vaseline. I'll have to try that. thanks! I was at the point where I was going to slather it in lip balm. Now there's a pretty sight.

Echinacea tea is great. I do the vitamin C too. I love the Emergen-C packets, we actually use them for an energy boost before working out too. but they help a lot. and anything with zinc too. when I get a cold I try to kick it's butt as fast as I can. I was just blown away by this one because I was fine one day and then BOOM it hit me out of nowhere. I'm used to a day or two where I can feel it coming on first.
