Powdered Peanut Butter

  • Has anyone tried PB2, the powdered peanut butter? Got my four jars today, and it's so good! Peanut butter is a real trigger for me so I bought this to add to smoothies and oatmeal so I can get the peanut butter taste without all the fat and calories. While I know the peanut oil is good for you, it's just the fact that once I get started eating peanut butter, I can't seem to just eat a normal portion. The powdered stuff, which you can reconstitute although the consistency isn't as thick as natural peanut butter, has 75% less calories and fat. It does, however, contain sugar along with the dried peanuts, which my natural peanut butter didn't have. However, if it lets me keep peanut butter in my diet, then I'm willing to deal with it. I made a thick chocolate smoothie and added PB2, and it tasted just like chocolate/peanut butter ice cream. Yum!
  • I have never heard of that. Where did you get it?
  • me neither. Spill the beans!
  • No, I had never even heard of it until you mentioned it in a post last week. I was patiently waiting for you to get yours in so that you could let us know how it was.

But am I reading this right - do you have to buy 4 jars of it or was that just a personal choice? If you have to buy it in quantities of 4, I may just have to stick with my Better N Peanut Butter (it is great also - 50% of the calories / fat as regular peanut butter - but I'm only able to find it at Trader Joe's which is pretty far from my home).
  • I was just looking it up and you can only order 4 at a time through the Bell Plantation Web site. I did see someone had some on ebay for about $5 a jar not including shipping. I may have to order and split it with my Mom.
  • hungrygirl raves about this stuff. i have never tried it though as peanut butter is not my thing. If you want to add a cool diet friendly website google hungrygirl. She gives thumbs up or thumbs down on new products and loads of other diet friendly info!

  • never like PB....so i am safe
  • I finally had to do some searching on the net, but I found it... on ebay!
  • Ooohh, I just reconstituted some--it's good!!

I like the Hungry Girl site. Don't eat a lot of the stuff that's reviewed, but she was spot on with the PB2.
  • I love peanut butter, but darn! cant have the sugar in this one. I'll have to stick with my Smuckers natural peanut butter.
