I consider myself a foodie. I'm really into food, I love to cook, I spend hours planning a meal. I cook everything from Indian to French to Southern. So, understand that's my background when I complain about a cookbook.
At work, we celebrate birthdays and I love it. Our company is tiny (less than 15) and when we get together to celebrate, it's always a lot of fun. However, in the spirit of the thread about food at work, I offered to cook a carrot cake for the celebration. I figured I could use a recipe from the new Weightwatchers cookbook I just got. People at work were excited because they've tasted my stuff before and they love it.
This was the worst carrot cake I have ever tasted. Worst! It was flat, dry as sawdust and hard as cardboard. There was absolutely no flavor. It smelled divine when it was cooking. I am so disappointed.
Does anyone have an experience with this cookbook? Is it all going to be this terrible?
I've decided to use a old carrot cake recipe I have and try to lighten it myself. Grrrr.
*(Edit: I checked the WW website for Carrot Cake recipes and they have one for the same points value but the recipe is completely different than the cookbook. I wonder if I'm not the first person to complain about this recipe and they corrected it?)
