Extreme vs. regular FS

  • Morning

I just wondered if someone could give me a short description of what the difference is between the regular and extreme fat smash plans are. I am doing the regular, and didn't know there was an extreme plan until I saw these boards.
    Thanks,

  • The Extreme version is the book that Dr. Ian just put out. He describes it as "when you need to lose it fast." It is broken up into three one-week "cycles," and completing 3 cycles is equal to one rotation (hope that makes sense!). There are detailed daily menu/exercise plans for each week. It is basically eating a lot of fruits, vegetables, beans and brown rice, and exercising A LOT. I used to do WW, and day 1 of Extreme added up to 12 points for me....I was blown away.

I have never done the original Fat Smash, but just glancing at the book, the first phase of the original FS looked a little more restricting than the first week of Extreme. Like I said, though, I have never done it before and am currently on day 2 of Extreme (woo-hoo!), so I may be wrong about that...
  • Its definitely not for the faint of heart, LOL! Its more specific than the regular program in terms of food quantities and times of eating, etc. First day was rough, today I was out all day so it was much easier..i needed to do A LOT of preparation though.

    Hi
So when are you going to weigh? Im a habitual scale hoppper, so its hard for me to wait!
  • I made it a full 24 hours before I jumped back on the scale...let's just say that I was happy with what I saw! I am only going to count weekly weigh-ins, though, so I am trying to break the habit of getting on the scale every morning.

One thing I did do as a motivator, though: I took pictures. From three angles. In a sports bra and workout shorts. Oh. My. SWEET LORD!!! Talk about something to keep me going!!! I am almost tempted to put copies of the pictures on the fridge and in my purse to look at whenever I get the urge to eat something junky - ALMOST! Don't think I can bring myself to do it, though. I feel that day 2 went better than day 1, even though I had to bend the rules a little. I combined meals 3 & 4 since we had company, and I couldn't see serving a tiny dinner to guests!

For those of you with a raging sweet tooth, I recommend the Jello sugar free pudding cups. I had one of them (chocolate mint) for my 2nd snack, along with a spoon of lite cool whip, and let me just tell you, after two days of eating healthy, it was absolute heaven!
