I need to rev up for tomorrow's meeting!

  • I've been so psyched about WW since I joined in August. I love it. I don't miss a meeting, and sometimes I try to make it to two meetings a week if I can fit the extra one in.

Here's my dilema. Last Saturday at the end of the meeting my leader announced that we would have a new leader beginning this week. She's a fabulous lady/leader, but wants to be able to spend more time with her 4 year old grandchild....he's starting t-ball, etc., and after hearing the amount of time she puts in every week on WW stuff, I understand where she's coming from. She cried the whole time she was talking about it! She is an awesome leader, and you could definitely tell she put the hours in when preparing for her meetings. She is so inspirational, and I attribute a lot of my weight loss to her.

I want to go in to my meeting with an open mind tomorrow, but I know I'm going to miss the other leader greatly! I don't want my momentum to slow down with this change, and I understand that there will be obstacles through out life that we have to work through.

Anyway, I guess I just needed to say it all to help me get ready for tomorrow!
  • Kelly, Good luck tomorrow,
I too had a change of leaders and I guess I don't really like change too much so I resisted it. The funny thing is the new leader had different ideas that actually work better with my lifestyle. I know both are awesome leaders and the each have different strengths. Now I feel fortunate to have been able to see both their styles.
  • I have been to WW enough times to know that there are some leaders that are better than others and some that "touch a chord" with individual members than others.

I rejoined WW on a Thursday noon weigh in. The first day it was pretty much older women and an older man and the leader was non-descript but it was an easy meeting time for me. I joined for that meeting fully intending to find a different time and day to go. The next week, I went back to that same meeting, we got a new leader who was fabulous. She brought more out of all those older members (who I originally thought I'd have NOTHING in common with) OMG - that group today now has a total weight loss of over 600 lbs. I've stuck with that leader and group - I've tried others out due to time issues but I love my noon Thursday class. So I know how hard it would be to get a new leader. Check the new one out. She may have some new perspectives for you. If not, don't be afraid to find someone who works for you.

Boaterswife/Kelly - I have to say that you have been an inspiration for me through my months of this journey. I've been rooting you on and have enjoyed your posts. You can do this, bumps happen, but you definitely have the right mind set and you're making the program work. CONGRATS!
  • Thanks for the words of encouragement, ladies! I went to the meeting this morning, and am glad I did. She does have different style for the leader I've had since August, but I think it will be fine. She was upbeat, connected and informative: all things that I need to be successful! There is a different leader that does some of the daytime meetings at this location who does nothing at all. She reads from book/pamphlet the whole time and you can tell she puts no effort into her meetings at all. I think deep down I was apprehensive that this new leader might end up like that other one. I was pleasantly surprised!

Laura, thank you so much for your kind words! When I started WW I was hoping to be able to lose a few pounds, never dreamed that it would really WORK for me. As of this morning's weigh in I've lost 75.2 pounds. The thought of it just overwhelms me! Again, thank you! You guys give me so much inspiration every day, and I know I couldn't do it without all of you here at 3FC!
  • Kelly - glad your meeting turned out well.

Congratulations on your 75.2 lbs loss - awesome!
