Friday's {{{VIBES}}}

  • O.K. Ladies we are going to keep up the POSITIVE {{{{VIBES}}}} today!!! If someone can't do any physical activity today [and we all should be doing at least a little], at least our innards are going to be vibrating with knowing WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

    UP AND AT 'EM EVERYONE!!!!!!

Eleni, WOO-HOO, You lost!!!! YES, YES, YES!!!!! You go girl...and didn't that feel GOOD!!!!!! Now, you have 6 more days to strive for another one. Baby-steps, baby-steps. I agree that you won't be able to always 'drink' your meals and going back to portion control and activity is your best bet. Drag out those measuring cups, spoons and scale. Use them to make sure your portions are correct and you will see success. I KNOW you will... if you are faithful. Instead of going too drastic with the 1200 cal, how about starting with 1500 or 1800 cals? I used TOPS exchange system when I joined TOPS and that is how I reached goal the first time. Give it the 'good old college try'. I have the daughters old high school pom-poms out rootin' for you!!! RAH-RAH!!!

Sherrie and Christie - I am so happy to hear that you ladies are going to make it....it will just be next week...and that is OK as long as we all keep trying. You ladies are experts at knowing what changes you need to make [ I believe most that have weight struggles are experts....we just have a harder time implementing the knowledge]. Don't let yesterday's 'blip' hamper your success!!!

Sherri, I've been thinking about your plan for the leg weights. Your main mission with the walking is to raise your metabolism and burn fat. Don't let the weight slow down your pace or you will be defeating the purpose. Have you increased your pace since you have started walking?? Instead of walking 1.7 miles in the amount of time you were doing, how about 2 miles? That might be the next step you strive for plus swinging your arms a bit more.... instead of trying to build muscle with the weights. You are doing great and I have faith in you!!!! Remember your points and how that system works for you. Don't let that 'bending elbow' put things in that don't belong. Thanks again for your 'congrat's call'!

Christie, Boy, I feel your frustration. I know what it is like once KOPS status is lost. It is soooo hard to get back to that goal even though you are not that far from it. Don't let it get too far away. Those 3 pounds that KOPS can play around with above goal are so important to keeping us on our toes. I admire KOPS that stay below their goal weight and vow they won't go over. Those are the KOPS that usually never lose their status. I need to get my mind into that mode.... and you will too once you get back in. You will 'jump over' that goal post again and your resolve will even be stronger. You will be able to reflect back and know the challange that it was to succeed. My carbinated water is happily awaiting that day....I'll even shake it harder so it can go flying!!!!! Keep your eyes on the prize...it is around your corner!!!! Drink lots of water!!!!

Mickey, I'm glad that you realize that you need to get the body active. Controlling our eating is very important but virtually all studies show that it must go hand in hand with exercising. This is a difficult one for me to do, but I constantly need to remind myself that it is a "MUST DO"!!!! OK, OFF THE TUSH!!!!

Coco, I'm glad that your WOE [way of eating] is sensible like the exchange plan. Like I told Eleni, that is how I lost my 60+ pounds to goal. I played around alot and wasn't constantly faithful and it took me 3 years to do it....but it worked!!!! When I lost KOPS, I regained 25 pounds, and it took me 2 years to get it back. At that time, I couldn't get myself together, until I tried a different way and that is
The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet by the Hellers. This worked for me because it allows me to eat all the carbs I want (therefore I don't feel deprived) at one meal a day along with my protein and vegies, but it must be consumed within one hour. (It has to do with the way insulin is released in the body.) The other one or two meals are just protein and green vegies. I love salads so this is not a problem for me. Plus, I get to use full fat dressings because they are the ones with fewer carbs. The cravings for carbs really do diminish and I do KNOW that I AM a carb addict!!! It took me 6 months to lose those 25 pounds after I found this system. I wasn't truly doing it the way they said, so the weight came off slowly, but it was still coming off. Then I got on 'my mission' following it faithfully and lost 9 pounds in one month, regaining my KOPS status. I have really been struggling the past few months and it is because I have been going totally out of control with my eating of starches and sugars. When I get serious and eat more protein and vegies [following the plan], the weight comes off. That's what I've been doing and I have kept my regained status for 1.5 years. Keep doing what you are doing, because it is working for you and you are doing so GREAT!!!!

WHEW, that is enough of me!!! It's somebody else's turn. LOL!

To all the lurkers out there, stand up and let us know how you are doing. Hop on our bandwagon here.....The pom-pom's are shaking for all of us. Gee, it even feels good to root myself on....and the Lord knows I need it as much as anyone!

Watch out everyone, you are now being bombarded with those {{{{{{{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} KEEP "EM GOING!!!!

    TOPS Hugs,
    Summer
230.75/171.75 now/170 goal. One day, I still hope to lower 10#'s more.
  • Wow, you are so positive. I was feeling a little negative and reading your post put a smile on my face, Thanks!
I must admit I had a bit of a Farside vision with the pom-pom bit, that alone should keep me goin' until noon.

Way to go on KOPS status. I don't really understand how TOPS, KOPS and Backsliders work. But I am dreaming of reaching goal, that must be exquisitely special. WAY TO GO and OCEANS of POSITIVE {{{{{{{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} BACK TO YA!!!
Didn't make it to Aquafit last night. My DH phoned me at 4:00 and told me we had to attend some charity dinner at 6:30. "So sorry old girl, Forgot all about it, quite. No sense in dithering to me on the phone, better get a move on luv." Had to scramble to find something suitable to wear, find a sitter blah, blah, blah. Sheesh, even my dress shoes don't fit. I am an Aries, I must have a plan. This was not on my LIST!!! I hate being ill prepared!!! None the less, we had a very nice time, once all the new things on my list were crossed off.

Well Ladies, have a great day, stick to your guns, shake your pom-poms, and become absolutely everything we know we can be!!!

  • I don't know if this will work or not. This is an oldie but still cute

Have you ever wondered what the other
side of a smiley face looks like? Well wonder no more!
  • Hey Eleni, What a great rump....cute, cute, cute. Glad to see a smiley face working those stairs!!! See, if she/he can do it...and keep smiling....we can too!!!!!! LET'S GO LADIES!!

    TOPS HUGS,
    Summer
  • That's cute Eleni....That Smilie should have a trim butt, with all the stairclimbing he's doing.

I had a good weigh-in this morning. I lost 1 lb., which is more than I expected. I worked at the polls Tuesday and the ladies that work there always bring tooooo much to eat. And when it gets slow and we are bored, we end up snacking. I took veggies and low fat dip and baked chicken wings, so I tried to eat sensible and it paid off with the loss.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
