How come?

  • Ive lost 15 lbs, and im so excited. BUT.....my clothes are not fitting any bigger. How come?? ugh, its frustrating!!
  • Witsh me it takes about 15 pounds to drop a size.
  • You could be losing from all over your body, not one spot first, in which case it'll take a little longer to see the differences!
  • Congratulations on your loss!!! Way to go!!!

The reason could be, as RA said, that it's "spread out" all over your body so it'll take a little longer to lose some serious inches. Also it could take 15-20 lbs to drop a size. Don't get discouraged, you're doing great! Maybe add some more resistance (weights) to your exercise routine to build more muscle, which is denser, and burns more calories than fat.
  • Even if they're not feeling any bigger, could it be that they're looking better, fitting less snug, and not as tight in some places?

I second the weight loss all over idea, and weight training as well.
  • Yup. It can take a lot to lose a size along with the other things these ladies mentioned.
But don't forget....... the scale doesn't lie! You have done great! Just keep on at it!
  • Way to go on the 15 pounds. Like everyone else said you are probable loosing weight all over and that is why you have not dropped a size.

I personally found that it takes a lot more then 15 pounds to drop a size. I've lost 98 pounds. When I started I barely fit into a 22 dress pants, now I fit into a size 16 dress pants. So that averages that is 25 pounds a size. When i started I comfortably fit into a xxl t-shirt or 18/20 fitted shirt (like a sweater from lane bryant), now a xl is loose on me and I comfortable fit into a 14/16. So that is 50 pounds on shirt sizes.

I know that everyone is different but I thought my personal experience might help you. Keep up doing the good work and eventually the sizes will drop!
  • Thanks so much ladies!!!!!

I will start doing more resistance training. I have been slacking in the dept.

Thanks again for all of your well wishes!!
  • Maybe you've forgotten how tight they were when you started and now they fit correctly instead of being big.
  • I have the same problem and you guys just gave me a light bulb moment! I used to squeeze into a size 16 and now I can comfortably wear a 14/16. Congrats on losing 15 lbs!
