Well....

  • First of all my name is Malissa (nickname is Jaden). I have been overweight longer then I can really remember and have always wanted to do something about it but never really found myself motivated or encouraged enough to. When I was younger I was a healthy weight but as I got older I found myself growing and not in a way that I liked. I'm now almost 8 months pregnant and impatiently waiting for my daughter to get here. However even my doctor things that at this point I am still overweight, he has said that losing a small amount of weight right now definitely won't hurt myself or the baby, he's also hinted that I need to lose weight after the baby comes. I haven't really gained more then maybe 2 pounds the whole pregnancy but the baby is healthy and that's my main concern...though I found out I am diebetic and I am on a diet for that now. It really makes me feel good, better then I thought it would, the smaller meals, I thought would make it harder to get full but they really don't.

I think my problem was I would just eat a lot because it sounded good and wouldn't notice I was filling my stomach with more food then I needed. I want to keep up with this diet and start exercising even after the baby is here and hopefully eventually reach my goal weight. I hope that I can find support and help here on the forums. It really looks like a great place to be!
