Please hear me out!! Help if you can

  • I have followed Atkins to the letter and NEVER CHEATED, NOT ONCE. I drink all the required H20 plus some and exercise like a mad Russian (No offense to anyone) and I gained 5# this past week. I'm not happy with this mess at all. TOM is no where in sight, my thyroid is fine and I'm not losing inches either. Over the past week I went from 283# up to 288# as of yesterday. This morning I weighed and I'm back to 285# This is too insane and I hate it. Tomorrow I'm going to the Quick weight loss clinic and try their LC program. Atkins has stopped working for me and I'm not willing to waste anymore time trying to tweek his diet. I got too much weight to loss to keep pussy footing around trying to improve his diet. I'm a little pissed off too that he doesn't make it more clear that this diet doesn't work for everyone in his book.
    I hate to gripe and B#$*H so much but when I have given something my all and it still doesn't pan out I have no choice but to feel that a change needs to be made.
    I feel so let down by the Akins industry. I want Dr. A tared and feathered before sundown.

    I will tell you this, I lost 40 pounds on Atkins and then stopped. I think that at some point you do have to consider the amount of calories and this has been my downfall.

    Don't forget to add the chicken feathers to all that tar!!!!

  • OK, just throwing something out in left field here--you said that you've been working out like crazy, drinking all your water and being OP to the letter right? Muscle is heavier and denser than fat so if you don't see pounds coming off it's probably muscle you are developing. Same goes for inches, but I do have to say that you should notice a more firming up of loose flab if you're exercising that much. I say hang in there and keep doing what you're doing--maybe you're the kind of person that doesn't lose it all in a swoosh--maybe slow and steady wins the race?
  • Thanks guys. Pooky, I have never been a flabby fatty to begin with. all my fat was and is still solid. I don't shake when I walk and never have. So if I'm getting tighter I can't tell. I do plan to keep it LC but just not Akins. At least for now that's the way I feel.

  • Taz some do not respond to this diet infact i have a friend who gaines like you do. I was told that form her that when she does this diet her matabolism shuts down, but she also responds different to a lot of things too. if you are on eof these people then what about a modified atkins like the ww/low carb?? that may be the key

    the other thing when you say you have been exercising like crazy it this new??? because when i started to exercise i gained 8 lbs in muscle before i started to lose the fat again!!! and if you are so,lid that is hard to define because the measurements do not show that much difference, i keep thinking why does the 10 lbs not show much but if you take 10 lbs of butter and rub it all over yout body it will not be that thisck so you will not see that much difference int he actuall measur,ments. that kills me all the time and gets me realy ticked i can work my heart out and not see any results. hey i have some thing for yo uto try. this is a workout and sort of low carb eating plan that you can really see a difference. but they are more into low fat eating. i have done the workouts but left the eating low carb but eat 6 meals daily. www.bodyforlife.com check out the challenge winners!!! the transformation is wonderful infact check out the inspirational winners they are truly my heros!!! there are different things too that can be tried. so if you have not decided to give the other eating plan a try let me know. protein power sells this stuff called pentabosol. i have not tried it yet but mabe some day soon i will. it is a well it is hard to describe what it is so if you are interested check it out at www.eatprotein.com

    I also have found that the folks on this (PP) website/bb some can find out why you are stalling and help you break it. if you are interested in searching out why. many there are really well knowledgable and you can expect some very sientific explanations to your problems!!!! I am not joking one of them is a biochemest!!! so if you want to break your stall then hit that site!!! you will get more answers than you bargained for!!!

    I have been exrecising from the very begining. I'm still doing Akins although I'm not happy with it because I don't want to cheat and eat something that is not OP untill I find a new plan to use.

    I lost weight slower than the others that started at the same time I did and that was okay. It was when I started to gain weight that I got pissed off.

    I just bought the book BFL today and haven't had a chance to read it yet.

    I posted my plight over on the PP BB to see what kind of response I could get. I am indeed desperate here.
