Sort of newbie -- back AGAIN!

  • Hi, ladies:

I've been here before but I could not remember my username and password. So I'm back AGAIN! Plus it's been so long since I was here.

You are all a wealth of information and support so I'm back to what worked for me last time. I've been lurking but its time to come out and join. Commitment and all!

A little about me. I have about 225 pounds to lose. I'm starting small with a 20 pound goal and going from there.

That's me. Glad to be here, yada, yada. And thanks for having me!!! You're all really great!

  • WELCOME back, Moxie!

You may know that lots of our conversations happen in the fast moving numbered threads -- feel free to join us there, begin other threads about specific issues/questions, and browse some of the info on the stickies!

I think it's important to break the big steps into little ones... too big otherwise!
  • Hi Moxie!
I am new to this site and I was noseying around and read your blog...My DH uses a CPAP and I thank God every day for it!!! He was and still is an extremely heavy snorer. As long as he is wearing the mask, I actually get some sleep. When he was tested he was not breathing more than he was! He is so much more well rested when he gets up now,and the difference in his moods is increadable! It takes some getting used to, but I would rather have a DH looking like an alien, than no DH at all!
Good Luck and have some great sleep!!!
    Donna
  • Thanks for the welcome, Wyllenn! I'll try to keep up.

Donna, thanks for saying so! Last night was my second night on the CPAP. It's taking quite a bit of getting used to but I intend to keep up with it. I already am feeling better when I wake up in that I can actually wake up! I don't have the physical ailments first thing in the morning either. What led to moy diagnosis initially was that I had gone in for the fatigue and mood. I can already feel a difference in both so whatever little irritation I'm experiencing in wearing it at night, it's worth it to not be tired and crabby. I love to hear success stories of people that have been using it!!!
  • Moxie - Welcome back!
  • Hey Moxie, I am a newbie as well, although not returning, just a plain ol' newbie. I noticed that you are located in Oregon as well. Comforting to see someone from my home state. Things do move pretty quick here, I have been lurking around reading posts too. All of the support here is really amazing. Anyway, see ya' around.
  • Welcome!!

    Hi Moxie.
My husband and I both use a CPAP. The specialist we went to asked me how I was evening walking because I was getting NO rest at all. I have very severe sleep apnea and my husband has severe. When We were tested I was only breathing 20 seconds out of every minute! The dr said it was messing with my heart and eventually I would have had a heart attack. We've had ours for about 1.5 yrs now. I even take mine with me on trips. I can't sleep without it. They really do make a difference.
