Used to be an aerobics instructor and now...

  • Over the past two years my fitness level has gone downhill. When I was teaching my weight was around 145 lbs and I was happy and healthy. Now I'm at 179 lbs today - 1 lb short of what I weighed when I was pregnant. I have two kinds; a son who is 18 and a daughter who will be 14 in March.

I've lost focus and motivation in the way of my fitness and health. I do things I know I shouldn't like not get enough sleep, eat when I shouldn't, eat things that I shouldn't. I don't work out very often - maybe once - three times a month.

I'm hoping that I can find others in the same situation so we can help motivate each other and keep on track.

I know I'm happier when I'm healthier. I know I can do this.

  • Howdy, OK I confess I was never an aerobics instructor. My cardiovascular endurance has always been fairly poor. But somthing about your post rang a bell I think it was the I remember before children...

And the not getting enough sleep. My daughter is 2. I find getting enough sleep nearly impossible.

This site is truly motivational. Lots of good advice and support. Congrats for finding us and welcome.
  • I just joined 3 Fat chicks and saw your post. It sounded similar to mine. I never was an aerobics instructor but until very recently was in fairly good shape and good health. You can read my post for the whole story ("Didn't Know I had never been fat" under Introductions).

Good luck! Just take it one day at a time. Right now I am strongly fighting the urge to have my favorite chocolate ice cream. But I finally made it easy on myself by not bringing it home in the first place!!

  • One good thing to do to start is to increase your exercise. All it takes is going for a walk! You can easily do that every day or every other day, or three times a week, and you'll find it helps you feel better. This has been my experience.

    Good luck!!
