Oh the mortification.....but I have to talk to someone about this! So my darling son, seven years old, smart as a whip, usually really well behaved and an excellent student, brought home a progress report the other day. It details the child's behavior day-to-day, if they're good they get a stamp, if they misbehave or talk too much they don't. Well Robert did not get a stamp one of his days because, ARE YOU READY FOR IT, he and three of his buddies were in the bathroom and wanted to see who could PEE the furthest, so they all just turned around and shot it out ALL OVER THE FLOOR!

Oh the embarrassment! Well so my SIL says to me, Oh little boys do that kind of thing all the time. Something about them just being obsessed with their little thingys. And really the teacher didn't make a big deal out of it, she didn't even call me-don't you think THAT one should have been called?!

Yes I do realize the irony of posting this topic near to Nelie's topic wondering if not wanting children is normal. I was hoping some of you with boys could relate or had some similar stories.

Oh hilarious. Actually it doesn't surprise me that the teachers didn't think it worrisome (maybe if they were a few years older it would warrant more attention) but I think it's one of those cases where perfectly "normal" for the kid is mortifying for the parent.

I remember when my son was about 3(now he is 19). We own a campground.
I could see this lady laughing in her car while I checked someone else in.
When she came in she asked me if that was my son. I said yes. She then said it looks like he is drawing his name while he was peeing. I was horrified that he was outside doing that, she though it was funny. That is boys for you. If he had done that inside I would of punished him.

I have two boys, not that they've done that exactly but many things in the same ball park. Obviously it's something relatively "normal" or the teacher would have called you. I'm like you, I would have wanted to be called but their not calling tells you they didn't think it was a big deal, and you shouldn't get too worried about it. Another occasion to have a little "keep your private parts to yourself" talk. Three months after summer camp last year my son informs me kids were laughing at him because he was dropping his pants to pee -- I had never thought to teach him to use the "flap" on his underwear to pee, instead of dropping it all!! You know, mom's just wouldn't think of all the crazy things related to being a boy!!!

Yeah, well, my DS at about that age took some poloroid shots of "himself" and distributed them to his friends. I got called into the principal's office after the friends took them home and showed their parents.

Yeah, my son the pornographer. YIKES!!! Thankfully, it was a one time deal!

Thank God I received a girl! But this doesnt seem at all worrisome to me given his young age.

It is definitely normal behavior. My son (now 21) and my DH both admit to having had peeing contests when they were very young. Yep, once they found "it" they never left it alone. LOL

Allison, my sisters' DD took a Playgirl magazine to kindergarten with her and shared it with all her friends. When my sis was called to the school and her DD was asked by the principal "where did you get this?" She replied "it's mommies". My sister about died of embarassment. LOL

My brother was about 5 or 6 and his room had a peculiar funk to it, we just couldn't quite figure out what it was. Finally mom got sick of it and went up there and started doing some major cleaning, and what did she find under the bed?! Oh, my bother's nerf crossbow squirt gun - filled with pee that he had been saving... for what we do not know...

Boys are yucky. it comes with the territory. I live with two grown boys, and they are still yucky.

We have 6 sons all grown and the stories are still coming out. ha!

Peeing for distance is one of the great benefits of being male. I'd say it's completely normal (although standard protocal would be to see who could back away furthest from the urinal rather than to turn around and pee on the floor).

I have one of each and they both are trying, just in different ways. My son did the whole distance pee thing, my DD kept trying to pee standing up. I couldn't get mad at her cause I did the same thing. Girls also get fixated on ta-tas and that gets to be quite a mess, why aren't mine as big as Sally's, why are mine bigger than Jane's, why CAN'T I get padded bras, I don't want a bra from Target I want my stuff from Victoria's Secret, it just goes on and on and just when you get sick of that, here they come wanting to know why you won't buy them thong underwear!
