As a nursing (overweight) mother I have felt so helpless and stuck. Maybe partly due to hormones, partly due to pre-pregnancy body image issues. When I found this website and saw that they had links to plus size maternity clothes, I literally got tears in my eyes. I would have been so happy to have found this when I was pregnant.

I'm Aphil, and I had my third child in August. He just turned 6 months old.

Basically-I got huge with #1, lost the weight through diet and exercise...got huge again with #2...lost the weight...now I am working to lose the weight for the final time, after baby #3. (THE LAST!!)

It is a struggle...and there are definitely difficulties that mothers with babies and young children face that those with older children/no children don't-nursing, lack of sleep, etc. and it is great to find support here.

I'm so sorry you've felt stuck and helpless. I think some of it definitely is hormones and sleep deprivation. I am currently pg with #7. I've nursed all my babies and frankly, my body held on to 10 pounds every time until they weaned. I guess in a famine my babies would make it ;-) Anyway, glad you found this spot.

I too felt so relieved to find this forum! It was just such a big relief to know I'm not alone.
