New to the site and needing support!!

  • Hello everyone!

First time on your site and I already love the support and encouragement!! My weight has continually been on the rise since hitting 36. I was fortunate when I was younger, not to have problems with weight. But I always thought I needed to lose a couple of pounds. Now that I'm older, I see that I never took very good care of myself, I was just lucky. I have a son who is struggling with his weight and it breaks my heart that I haven't done more to encourage him, I've been too involved in my weigh gain. Well, not anymore. I need your encouragement and support for the both of us!

We are starting a new life today. Cleaning the cabinets out and filling them with healthy foods.. My goal is to lose 30 lbs by June. We have a beach trip planned with family, I want for my son and myself to not be embarrassed when we go.

Thanks for the site and all of the incredible people!!! I think that I will find much needed help here!

  • Hello and It's good that you've made the decision to get healthy and shift some pounds. I'm trying to lose 25lbs by July so we have similar goals. Just jump right in. Read a lot because i thought I knew a fair amount about nutrition until I came here

  • Thank you so much Doughnut and Chances93! I think my chances will be much better with all of the support from this site!

    Doughnut,

Stay in touch! I would love to have a weight partner goal!! We can encourage each other!

    Chances,
I am also dealing with perimenopause and am quie certain that's where the majority of the weight is coming from. I have read several aritcles on eating habits when going through the "post" change. I think that I am going to start the 6 small meals method. This is suppose to keep your metabolism high throughout the day, as long as you are eating healthy foods and snacks. I'm not used to eating all day long, which could be my problem.

Thanks again! And I look forward to continuing to build new friendships!
