Weigh in at Home 2/12-2/18!

  • I wanted to post my Monday morning weigh-in, but there wasn't a new thread so I hope that it's ok that I started one.

I lost this week despite a weekend in St. Louis with 20 crazy teenagers! We left town on Friday at noon so I stopped at Wendy's and got a Frescata club sandwich w/o mayo for lunch. I had water all of Friday. I also packed 3 power bars, a few apples, some plain almonds, a bag of honey wheat pretzels (have you tried those Rold Gold Honey Wheat Pretzels??? YUMMY!), and some sugar free hard candy. That evening, I ate a power bar and then back at the hotel at 11pm, I had 2 pieces of pizza and a couple of cookies. The next morning while everyone else was eating poptarts, I had another power bar and more water. We had to eat lunch at the conference at the arena and it was soooooooo expensive. I REALLY wanted junk food! Polish dog, nachos, soft pretzel with cheese, chicken strips and fries, etc... BUT I did really well and I chose a plain grilled chicken sandwich! Yay, me!!! That evening for dinner we went to Subway so I finally had a diet coke there with my club sandwich. And on the way home, I didn't get any junk food. I ate my almonds and another apple and drank more water.

I feel so proud of myself!!! I did sooooo good!

We went out for lunch after church yesterday to a mexican restaurant and I didn't do *really* well, but I didn't get my usual so I am proud of myself for that!

So this morning the scale rewarded my efforts! I lost 1.6lbs!!!!

I am now down 18lbs! NEVER to see 290 or 280 again and soon I will add 270 to that too!!!

  • thats great! good for you! Today was my first weigh in, and I haven't lost anything but thats okay, I only started WW today but had been watching everything I was eating for 3 weeks. Hopefully I will have some weight to report next week.
  • Marcia - Thanks for getting the thread started. Wow - great job over the weekend! Congrats on the loss - you certainly deserved it!

Cartersmommy - Welcome and congrats on getting started.

Judy - I hope you're continuing to feel better. Bummer on the gain, but it's small, it's explainable, and it will go away.

I didn't get back on the board after I weighed in last week. I lost .04 pounds. It's small, but unexpected so I'll take it. My eating's been a bit better this week, so I'm hoping for another loss. It's finally warmed up into the 20s here, but in exchange for the higher temps, we get snow! I'm ready for winter to be over.

    Have a great day.

    Carla
  • Marcia - thanks for starting the thread this week - whoever gets here first is welcome to start it. Congratulations on that great loss! You should feel proud of yourself: you planned for what you would need for the trip and you followed through with it. That's a huge accomplishment. I always find I do better on trips when I come prepared (or armed) with healthy foods.

cartersmommy - welcome and congratulations for starting on the road to health.

Carla - congratulation on the loss - no matter what the number! I am starting to get tired of winter too even though we had it so easy in December. We are supposed to get cold tomorrow too and tomorrow night into Wednesday we are having some kind of precipitation starting with snow and ending as who knows what. I hope you don't get too much.

I'm home again today although I am finally feeling better. I was a little concerned yesterday and was ready to call the doctor again but thank goodness I finally feel better. I'm sure I'll have the "left over bronchitis" cough for the next week or so but I'm definitely much improved. If everything continues to improve I plan on finally getting back to work tomorrow. It will be good to feel well enough to get some activity again soon.

I made a decision over the weekend about my points. The "old" plan (which worked great for me in the fall) had me at 20 points while the new one had me at 18. I found myself stressing so much over it that I think it was just throwing me off. It's all well and good to journal everything, plan, and stick to points but I found myself stressing over it which hasn't been good for my weight loss (I haven't lost in weeks). I was losing when I was working with 20 points so I decided to go back to 20 points and see how it goes. I had a few more flex points than I planned on Saturday but I should have enough for the week. I hope I can get to my yoga class on Wednesday (first that I feel well enough and second that we don't have a bad storm). I missed it last week and earning a couple of activity points can't hurt. I can't see trying any cardio until at least the end of the week. The last thing want is a relapse of a very nasty bout with bronchitis.

    Have a great one!
    Judy
  • cartersmommy - WELCOME and best of luck to you this week. You can do it!

Judy - Glad you are feeling better. Bronchitis is not fun at all. Points can stress one out, huh? I hope the 20pts will work well for you this week. Keep feeling better.

Carla - ANY loss no matter how small is a reason to celebrate! Great job! Hope you have a great week.
  • Marcia, you're doing great!!

cartersmommy, way to go on getting started -- you'll do fantastic!

Judy, I hope you're feeling better. I finally went to the doctor and I have an upper respiratory infection, but I got some antibiotics so I hope it's finally getting knocked out. I also have to go Thursday to get a CAT scan because of my fall. Eek!

cece, good job on the loss -- any loss is wonderful!!

I lost one pound this week, which was more than I expected since I didn't get to work out at all. I checked my BMI again and it's at 30.1, which is sooooooo close to overweight instead of obese. I'm close to that milestone and to Onederland, so I'm very excited! Now if i can just get better and get back to running regularly, I can actually meet those goals!
  • Hi ladies, hope you don't mind if I pop in here from time to time. About two weeks ago I started WW again full-force, and it would be nice to have some correspondence with other WW people (I'm usually over on the 20-somethings, they're mostly calorie counters). I haven't found any system that works like WW does for me. It's awesome. I just have to stick with it

So, in the two weeks I've been doing this, I've lost 3 lbs. Considering that during this time I've been dealing with some pretty tough emotional eating problems that I think I might finally be getting over, I'm pretty happy with the -3!!

I'm a little concerned about tomorrow... not because I'm doing anything in particular, as my fiance is currently 600 miles away. But we seem to have gotten a bunch of freezing rain dumped on us, which will certainly close the elementary school I work at tomorrow... Usually I'm not there on Wednesdays, so I figured I could avoid the hundreds of kids carrying around bags of candy (and sharing!)... but if the school is closed, they'll postpone Valentine's day to Thurs, when I DO have to go in... Oh, dear. Looks like I'll have to go out there and face the holiday. I don't even *like* the junk chocolate like hershey's kisses, but it's so hard to say no when it's been given to me.

Marcia: wtg avoiding all the junk... that's a tough situation! sounds like you did great with planning ahead, that always helps.

cece: any loss is a good loss congrats!

Judy: Definitely take the extra two if it helps flip a mental switch for you... Funny how something so seemingly small can have such a huge effect in your thinking about what you can eat. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you make it to your yoga!

Lisa: congrats on the loss! I know what you mean about being excited to pass those milestones.... My WI today was 201, talk about teetering on the brink! You've done an incredible job so far, keep it up!
  • Congrats to all the losers. Those that haven't lost don't give up. Keep with it and you'll see success.

I had started WW's again but didn't stay on it long because lots of stuff that was going on. However, I decided to restart this Wednesday and was quite surprised when I got on the scales. Even without watching what I was eating that well I managed to go from 173 to 168. So I figured it wasn't that bad. I'm still strugglling with journaling and getting all my water. Things will get better though.
