Planning for Friday Feb. 9

  • I didnt get to post my plan for yesterday because my son had a dr. appointment in the city in the morning( 2 hours there and 2 hours back) and we had to do some shopping (of course)so i didnt get home until late, BUT i was only at 1400 cals for the day and didnt eat anything i wasnt supposed to, despite those beautiful golden delicious costco french fries and poutine......but i didnt get as much water as i would have liked...anyways todays plan is:
    B-toast w/ jam( ww bread & low cal jam)& a plum
    S-cheese string
L-salad, chicken noodle soup & maybe a hard boiled egg
S-crackers & light cream cheese spread
D-im thinking of making some haddock, potatos & onions sliced and cooked in tinfoil & mixed frozen veggies
S-popcorn & maybe a 1/2 cup of light chocolate ice cream tonight

    Water- 3.5L
exercize- just getting ready to go for a 30 min ride on my stationary bike
  • b - healthy start, milk, banana

l - subway sandwhich, baked chips

    s - ww ice cream

d - have no idea what the bf and I are doing today so I'm clueless about dinner.
  • I had a horrible star to my day, I hit a deer on my way to the gym at 5.15 this morning. It was awful. The car is semi wrecked, the left side headlights are gone, the grill is gone and the hood is all crinkled. I'm ok, no injuries just extremely shaken up. I have a plan for today but not much appetite right now so this may change:-

Breakfast - steel cut oats, walnuts, blueberries, coffee

Snack - 1/2 sliced green pepper, shaved turkey breast

Lunch - bean curry, brown rice, raita, banana

    Snack - pear

Dinner - beef and barley soup

    Water - who knows

Exercise - no gym today, see above
  • B: 1 egg mcmuffin no butter + 20 oz coffee w/cream
    S: 4 bite-sized chocolates
    S: 1c grapes
    L: 1.5c cream of potato soup + 1c salad (Romaine w/raw bok choy) + 1 roma tomato + 1c sauteed bok choy
    D: roasted potatoes w/cheese + steamed eggplant <-- tentative
  • LynneA~sorry to hear about your accident. Thankfully YOU are okay.

    B~1 c egg whites + 1 c blackberries
    S~apple
L~mac and cheese (not a great choice, but I need a filler)
S~none, I'll be busy at a charity bike ride
D~hmmm, that's tough. I have chicken or pork to barbeque, but no fresh veggies that I can think of. I may need to stop at the store or send DH out to get some broccoli. Maybe I'll do a 2nd breakfast instead.
  • Lynne, very glad you're okay. That must have been SCARY!

    Sooooo glad it's Friday today.
    My plan is:

    B: 1/4 c. egg white w/ cheddar, V8, milk, 2 slices chicken bacon
    S: apple
L: leftover meatball casserole, SF jello
    S: cheese stick
D: chicken divan, cabbage, ww toast
S: SF fudgesicle, probably, or 2 homemade pb cookies

    Exercise: 30 minutes bike

I'm finding it HARD to get all my veggies in for the day, unless I have a big salad at lunch, and apparently even a salad with romaine lettuce doesn't count as veggies, since lettuce has little nutritional value. I'm going to work on that harder next week. This week was tough.

But isn't romaine considered dark and leafy, and I thought those kind of veggies were good for you. I though it was only the iceberg lettuce that doesn't have any nutritional value. Uh oh, that's what I have been using as one of my daily servings of veggies

    Change of plans:

L - 1 soft taco from taco bell and black bean salad (romaine, tomatoes, black beans, corn, taco sauce) so yummy and just 8 points for everything!!!
D - Japanese I'm still debating what I will eat....probably hibachi veggies and shrimp, still contemplating the fried rice

That's what I thought, but I keep getting told that lettuce isn't considered "veggies". I've been using it, because it's easiest for me. 4 1/2 cups of veggies other than lettuce seems like a lot for someone who used to eat MAYBE a half cup a day...
  • To my understanding, Romaine has roughly 10x the nutritional value of Iceberg, but spinach has 10x the nutritional value of Romaine.

IMO, you didn't end up on this board from eating Romaine lettuce. If it works for you, on *whatever* diet, go for it.
  • LynneA- sorry to hear about your accident, but im glad that your ok!
