Anyone had the Whole Wheat Tuscan Fettucine from Noodles & Company. Going there to eat with my hubby tonight and it looks like a smart choice...
If you Google their website, click on 'food' and then 'diet guide', then you'll see the listing for the Tuscan Fettucine. The serving size is 500 calories, but the note in the sidebar reads that the co. is generous with its portions, so they present you with more than TWO TIMES the recommended serving. So, be forewarned that greater than 1000 calories will be sitting on your plate when your order arrives. Spend some time looking at their selections for diet conscious eaters, and maybe you and your husband can plan accordingly.
Yes - I found it REALLY tasty. When I travel to MN for work, I always push to eat here because it is a tasty, healthier option.
Are you sure it's more than 1000 calories? They also say the serving size is one dish, and the website reads as below:
"We believe in value. Our portions are very generous, so each dish is more than two times the FDA's definition of a serving size.
Serving size = One Dish"
Maybe they are just saying that their serving sizes are larger than the FDA's recommended servings. The calories are listed per serving size, and they say that THEIR serving size is one dish. I think this makes more sense, but I don't know for sure.
I just realized that they don't list it under their listings for less than 550 calories, so I'm probably wrong!
Their serving size is 1 dish. Their nutritionals are for 1 dish. What is presented to you on the plate is not an unreasonable serving, nor is it two servings as defined by their nutritionals. Right on the label it reads "Serving Size = 1 dish" so they are clearly giving nutritionals for the entire dish.
Most of their dishes are under 550 cals...they only list three choices under each of their "watching X" sections, not all of the options.
